Gelbison secured a 2-1 home win over Polisportiva Ossese in Italian Serie D on Sunday, October 18, 2026, combining an assertive first-half display with a resilient finish to claim all three points. The victory underlined Gelbison’s ability to control spells of the game in midfield, while Ossese’s late response made for a tense closing stage.

Match overview

Gelbison started with purpose and pressed high, forcing Ossese into long clearances and limiting the visitors’ attempts to settle into possession. The hosts created the first clear opening inside the opening quarter-hour and were rewarded when a flowing move down the right ended with a low finish from close range. Ossese responded with a spell of pressure before the break, but Gelbison’s goalkeeper dealt comfortably with two efforts from distance.

The second goal arrived early in the second half, giving Gelbison breathing room. A quick turnover in midfield sent the home side forward, and a composed finish from the edge of the area made it 2-0. Ossese refused to fade and halved the deficit with a header from a set piece, setting up a nervous final period. Gelbison dropped deeper late on but defended their box well, clearing several crosses and blocking a stoppage-time shot to protect the win.

Key moments

• 18th minute: Gelbison take the lead after a patient passing move ends with a close-range finish.
• 51st minute: The home side double their advantage through a swift counter-attack and a calm finish.
• 74th minute: Polisportiva Ossese pull one back with a header from a corner.
• 90+2 minutes: Gelbison’s goalkeeper makes a late save to deny Ossese an equaliser.

Tactical story

Gelbison’s 4-3-3 shape worked well in the first hour. The midfield trio pressed as a unit, winning second balls and allowing the full-backs to push forward. That width stretched Ossese’s defensive line and created space between the lines. Ossese improved after switching to a more direct approach, using longer passes into the channels and committing more players to set pieces. The visitors’ goal came from exactly that route, but Gelbison managed the final minutes with greater composure.

Standout performers

Gelbison’s captain set the tempo in midfield, repeatedly linking defence and attack, while the centre-forward’s hold-up play brought others into the match. The goalkeeper’s late intervention proved decisive. For Ossese, the right winger was the most consistent threat, driving at defenders and delivering the corner that produced the consolation goal.

What the result means

The three points give Gelbison momentum in the Serie D standings and reinforce their home form. For Polisportiva Ossese, the defeat is a frustrating one after a spirited second-half display, but the performance showed enough attacking intent to suggest they can respond quickly in their next fixture.
