FB Brindisi 1912 1-2 Turris Neapolis: Visitors strike late to take Serie D points

Turris Neapolis came from behind to beat FB Brindisi 1912 2-1 in Italian Serie D on 20 September 2026, leaving the Stadio Franco Fanuzzi with a hard-fought away victory. Brindisi started brightly, but Turris grew into the game and found the decisive goal in the closing stages.

Match overview

Brindisi pressed aggressively from the opening whistle and were rewarded when they took the lead inside the first 20 minutes. The home crowd expected that goal to settle their side, but Turris responded with composure, tightening their midfield and gradually turning possession into territory. The equaliser arrived early in the second half, and from there the visitors looked the more likely winners.

Key moments

• 18th minute: Brindisi went 1-0 up after a well-worked move down the left ended with a close-range finish.
• 54th minute: Turris levelled with a curling effort from just outside the penalty area.
• 82nd minute: The away side completed the comeback when a cut-back from the right was swept home at the near post.
• 90+3rd minute: Brindisi pushed bodies forward, but Turris defended a late corner to protect the win.

Tactical story

Brindisi's 4-2-3-1 worked well in the first half, with their wide players isolating the Turris full-backs. After the break, Turris switched to a more aggressive 4-3-3 press, winning the ball higher and forcing Brindisi into longer clearances. That shift in territory proved decisive, as Turris created better chances in the final half-hour.

Standout players

Turris's No. 9 led the line intelligently, holding the ball up and bringing runners into play, while their right winger was a constant threat in the second half. Brindisi's goalkeeper made two important saves to keep the score level for as long as he could, and their captain tried to drive the team forward late on.

Table and season impact

Turris take a confidence-building three points on the road and move upward in the Serie D standings. Brindisi are left to rue a strong start that slipped away, and they will need to improve their game management when protecting a lead. The result adds another unpredictable chapter to the Serie D campaign.
