FB Brindisi 1912 Beat Nardo 2-0 in Serie D

FB Brindisi 1912 produced a controlled 2-0 victory over Nardo in Italian Serie D on Sunday night, combining patient build-up with a sharp edge in both boxes. The home side scored in each half and managed the game well after taking the lead.

Match overview

Brindisi set the tone early with a high press and quick ball circulation, forcing Nardo into a deep defensive shape. The breakthrough came midway through the first half, and Brindisi doubled their advantage after the break with a move that exposed Nardo’s stretched back line. Nardo improved in patches but struggled to create clear chances against a well-organized defence.

Key moments

• 27th minute: Brindisi took the lead with a first-time finish after a low cross from the right.
• 52nd minute: Nardo’s best chance came from a free-kick, but the header went over.
• 63rd minute: Brindisi made it 2-0 with a composed finish following a turnover in midfield.
• 84th minute: Brindisi’s goalkeeper saved well at his near post to preserve the clean sheet.

Tactical story

Brindisi’s midfield pressed in coordinated bursts and forced Nardo to play long, which allowed the home side to win second balls and sustain attacks. Their full-backs provided width, while the front line rotated to create space between the lines. Nardo defended bravely but were often isolated in possession, and their attempts to build from the back were disrupted by Brindisi’s intensity.

Standout performers

Brindisi’s striker led the line effectively, linking play and scoring the second goal, while the right winger was a constant threat with deliveries into the box. The centre-back pairing managed the game calmly in the final stages. Nardo’s goalkeeper kept the score respectable with several saves, and their captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

League impact

The three points strengthen Brindisi’s position in the Serie D standings and give them momentum in a congested promotion race. Nardo will need to respond quickly, especially in attack, where the lack of a cutting edge cost them. For Brindisi, the clean sheet is as encouraging as the goals, offering a solid platform for the matches ahead.
