Villa d'Alme Valbrembana claimed a 1-0 victory over Calcio Brusaporto in the Italian Serie D Cup on 29 October 2026, with a second-half goal deciding a tense and closely matched cup tie.

Villa d'Alme edge through in Serie D Cup

Villa d'Alme Valbrembana and Calcio Brusaporto produced a hard-fought cup encounter that was always likely to be settled by a single moment. In the end, that moment arrived after the break, when Villa d'Alme found a way through a stubborn Brusaporto defence and held on for a narrow win.

The hosts started with intent, pressing high and looking to force mistakes in the Brusaporto back line. Brusaporto, however, grew into the game and showed why they are a difficult side to break down, defending in numbers and threatening on the counterattack.

Match overview

The first half was a story of two different approaches. Villa d'Alme Valbrembana tried to play through the middle and use quick combinations around the penalty area, while Calcio Brusaporto sat deeper and looked to spring forward whenever they won the ball. Clear chances were limited, but the intensity of the contest never dropped.

After the restart, Villa d'Alme increased the tempo and began to find more space in wide areas. Their persistence paid off when a well-worked attacking move opened up the Brusaporto defence. From that point on, the home side had to defend intelligently, and they did so with maturity to protect their advantage.

The decisive moment

The only goal of the game came from a patient Villa d'Alme move. After working the ball into the final third, the home side created a shooting opportunity for Matteo Riva, who kept his composure and found the bottom corner. It was a finish worthy of deciding a cup tie, and it gave Villa d'Alme Valbrembana the momentum they needed for the closing stages.

Brusaporto responded by pushing more bodies forward, but the equaliser never arrived. Villa d'Alme's defenders stood firm, clearing crosses and blocking shots as the visitors searched for a way back into the match.

Tactical battle

Villa d'Alme's success was built on patience. They did not force the issue too often and were willing to recycle possession when the direct route was blocked. Their midfield kept the team ticking, and their full-backs provided useful width when the game became stretched in the second half.

Calcio Brusaporto defended with discipline for long spells, but the goal forced them to change their approach. As they committed more players forward, spaces appeared at the back, and Villa d'Alme could have added a second on the counterattack. In the end, one goal was enough.

Standout players

Matteo Riva will take the headlines for the winning goal, but Villa d'Alme's goalkeeper, Lorenzo Bassi, also played a key role with a late save that preserved the clean sheet. The centre-back pairing dealt well with Brusaporto's aerial threat, while the midfield worked tirelessly to close down space.

For Calcio Brusaporto, the goalkeeper kept his side in the tie with several important stops, and their captain organised the defence well despite the pressure. The visitors will be disappointed to exit, but their performance showed plenty of character.

What it means for both sides

The win gives Villa d'Alme Valbrembana a valuable boost in the Italian Serie D Cup and rewards their patience in a difficult knockout fixture. A clean sheet will also please the coaching staff, especially against an opponent that carried a threat on the break.

For Calcio Brusaporto, the defeat is a narrow one that could have gone either way. They will now turn their attention to their next commitments, knowing that a single moment decided the cup tie. Villa d'Alme, meanwhile, can look forward with confidence after edging through a tight battle.
