ACN Siena Youth produced a clinical away performance to defeat ASD Flaminia Civita Castellana 3-0 in the Italian Serie D Cup on 7 October 2026. The young Siena side were sharper, faster, and more ruthless in front of goal, booking their place in the next round with a thoroughly deserved victory.

Match Overview

From the first minute, ACN Siena Youth imposed their high-pressing game on the hosts, forcing Flaminia into a series of early errors. The opening goal arrived in the 12th minute when a misplaced pass was intercepted by Siena’s attacking midfielder, who drove forward and slotted calmly past the goalkeeper. Flaminia struggled to cope with the pace of Siena’s front three, and the visitors doubled their lead in the 34th minute with a well-worked team move that ended with a close-range finish.

The second half was more of the same. Flaminia attempted to push men forward in search of a lifeline, but Siena’s defence held firm and their counter-attacks remained a constant threat. The third goal arrived in the 78th minute, a curling effort from the edge of the box that sealed the win and silenced the home crowd. Flaminia’s best chance came in the 60th minute, but their striker headed wide from six yards when it seemed easier to score.

Key Moments

• 12’ – Siena Youth take the lead after a high press forces a turnover, finished with a low drive into the bottom corner.
• 34’ – A slick one-two on the edge of the area opens up the Flaminia defence, and the ball is tapped in from close range.
• 60’ – Flaminia’s golden opportunity: a free header from a corner goes wide of the post.
• 78’ – Siena Youth wrap up the win with a superb curling strike from 20 yards.

Tactical Story

ACN Siena Youth’s 4-3-3 formation was designed to press high and overload the flanks. Their wingers constantly cut inside, dragging Flaminia’s full-backs out of position and creating space for overlapping runs. Flaminia, set up in a 4-2-3-1, struggled to build from the back and were repeatedly forced into long balls that were easily dealt with. The hosts’ midfield was overrun, and their defence was repeatedly exposed by Siena’s quick transitions.

Standout Players

Siena’s attacking midfielder was the architect of the victory, contributing a goal and an assist while dictating the tempo. Their centre-back was equally impressive, winning every aerial duel and stepping out of defence to start attacks. For Flaminia, the goalkeeper made several fine saves to keep the score respectable, but the outfield players never matched the intensity of their opponents.

Season Impact

The win sends ACN Siena Youth into the next round of the Italian Serie D Cup, where they will face another test against higher-ranked opposition. For ASD Flaminia Civita Castellana, the cup exit is a disappointment, but it allows them to focus fully on their league campaign. The result highlights the gap in sharpness between a well-drilled youth academy side and a first team still finding its rhythm. Siena’s youngsters will rightly celebrate a professional away performance.
