Chisola suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at the hands of Ligorna in their Italian Serie D fixture on 27 September 2026, as the visitors produced a composed second-half performance to take all three points.

Played under the lights at the Stadio Comunale, the match was a classic Piedmont-Liguria clash that swung on fine margins. Chisola started brightly and took an early lead, but Ligorna responded with two unanswered goals to claim a valuable away win.

Match Overview

Chisola began with intent, pressing high and forcing Ligorna into early errors. Their reward came in the 23rd minute when a quick move down the right ended with a low drive into the bottom corner. The home crowd sensed a first home win of the campaign, but Ligorna weathered the storm and gradually imposed their own rhythm.

The equaliser arrived four minutes before half-time. A well-worked corner was flicked on at the near post, and the Ligorna midfielder arrived late to bundle the ball home from close range. That goal changed the mood completely, and the visitors went into the break with momentum.

Tactical Story

Ligorna switched to a 4-4-2 mid-block after the equaliser, inviting pressure and hitting on the break. That tactical shift proved decisive, as the winning goal came from exactly that pattern.

Standout Players

Ligorna's central midfielder was the engine of the comeback, winning possession and dictating tempo. Their striker also impressed with relentless movement. For Chisola, the goalkeeper kept the score respectable with two fine saves, while the young winger who scored showed flashes of real quality.

What It Means

The win lifts Ligorna into a more comfortable position in the Serie D standings, while Chisola remain in search of consistency. With the season still in its early stages, both sides will know that fine margins like these will define their campaigns.
