Chisola produced the most entertaining performance of the Serie D weekend, beating Derthona 4–2 in a six-goal thriller on Sunday evening. The hosts' attacking football was simply too much for their opponents to contain, and although Derthona twice threatened to make a contest of it, Chisola's quality in the final third ultimately proved decisive.

Match Overview

From the opening minutes it was clear this would not be a cagey affair. Chisola pressed aggressively, moved the ball forward quickly and committed numbers into the attacking third, while Derthona responded with direct, purposeful counter-attacks. The result was an open, breathless game in which the defences were frequently left exposed.

Chisola's attacking fluency gave them the edge throughout. They scored at regular intervals, but Derthona's persistence meant the outcome remained uncertain until the closing stages, when a late fourth goal finally put the match beyond reach. It was a superb advert for Serie D football and a significant result for the hosts.

Key Moments

• Early breakthrough: Chisola opened the scoring inside the first twenty minutes with a well-constructed move that carved open the Derthona defence.
• Instant reply: Derthona responded quickly, punishing a loose pass with a clinical finish on the counter-attack.
• Chisola retake control: Two goals either side of the interval restored and then extended the home side's advantage.
• Derthona pull one back: A set-piece goal made it 3–2 and set up a nervous final period.
• The clincher: Chisola sealed the win late on, finishing off a rapid break to make it 4–2 and end any doubt.

Tactical Story

Chisola's approach was bold and effective. They pressed high from the front, forced Derthona into hurried clearances, and then attacked the resulting turnovers with speed and precision. Their midfield pushed aggressively forward, essentially operating with three attackers in the final third for much of the game, which created constant numerical problems for the visiting defence.

Derthona, to their credit, refused to abandon their own attacking instincts. Their willingness to commit players forward is what made the match so watchable, but it also left them vulnerable to Chisola's quick transitions. Both of the home side's most dangerous moments came from winning the ball in midfield and attacking before Derthona's defensive shape could recover.

Standout Performers

Chisola's attacking players were the story of the night. The forward line linked superbly, combining sharp movement with decisive finishing, and the creator behind them consistently found pockets of space between the lines. Derthona's best performers were their goalkeeper, who prevented the scoreline from becoming more lopsided, and their captain, whose driving runs from midfield kept his team in the contest.

What It Means

A four-goal home display of this nature does wonders for confidence and goal difference alike. Chisola demonstrated that they possess one of the more potent attacks in their section, and if they can tighten up defensively, they will be a difficult proposition for anyone. Derthona, meanwhile, will take encouragement from their attacking output but must address the defensive lapses that allowed a high-scoring opponent to dictate the terms of the match.
