Match Overview

From the first whistle, Afragolese pressed high and forced Venafro into mistakes. By the time the fourth goal went in, the result was never in doubt, and Afragolese could even afford to miss a late penalty.

Key Moments

Tactical Story

Afragolese lined up in a 4-3-3 with an aggressive high press that suffocated Venafro's attempts to play out from the back. The midfield trio of Greco, Esposito, and Luca Marino dominated the engine room, constantly winning the ball and feeding the front three. Venafro tried to sit deep in a 5-4-1, but they were unable to cope with the relentless waves of attack and offered little going forward.

Standout Players

Antonio Russo was unstoppable, scoring one and setting up another with a performance full of pace and intelligence. Salvatore Greco controlled the game from midfield and scored a stunning free-kick. For Venafro, only goalkeeper Pietro Mancini emerged with credit after making several saves to keep the scoreline from becoming even more lopsided.

Season Impact

The emphatic win keeps Afragolese at the top of the Serie D standings, sending a warning to their promotion rivals. Venafro remain bottom and are still searching for their first point of the season. On this evidence, Afragolese look like serious contenders for the title, while Venafro face an uphill battle to avoid relegation.
