ASD Sporting Trestina came from behind to beat Santegidiese 2-1 in Italian Serie D on 25 October 2026, producing a determined second-half display to claim all three points on home soil. The match turned on Trestina’s response after conceding early, with the home side growing in confidence as the game progressed.

Match overview

Santegidiese started brightly and took the lead with a well-worked goal, briefly putting Trestina on the back foot. The home side needed time to find their rhythm, but an equaliser just before half-time changed the momentum. After the restart, Trestina controlled more of the ball and pushed Santegidiese deeper, eventually finding the decisive goal in the second half.

Key moments

• 22nd minute: Santegidiese opened the scoring through Luca Marini, who found space between the centre-backs and finished confidently.
• 44th minute: ASD Sporting Trestina equalised when Francesco Baldi converted from the edge of the area after a short spell of pressure.
• 71st minute: Andrea Rossi scored the winner for Trestina, arriving at the back post to turn in a low cross.
• 86th minute: Santegidiese pushed for a late equaliser, but Trestina’s defence dealt with a series of crosses and set pieces.

Tactical story

Trestina’s midfield became more assertive after the break, winning second balls and forcing Santegidiese to defend closer to their own goal. The home team’s width was important, especially in the build-up to the winning goal, while Santegidiese struggled to reproduce the sharpness of their early attacking play. The visitors remained organised but spent too much of the second half chasing the ball.

Standout players

Baldi’s equaliser was crucial in settling Trestina’s nerves, and Rossi’s winning goal capped a strong second-half performance. Marini was Santegidiese’s main threat, scoring the opener and working hard to link play before Trestina took control.

Season impact

The victory gives Sporting Trestina a confidence boost and rewards their patience after a difficult opening spell. Santegidiese will be frustrated to have taken the lead and lost it, especially after defending reasonably well for long periods, but the match showed how quickly Serie D games can swing on one sustained period of pressure.
