Seravezza Calcio 1-0 Flaminia Civita Castellana: home side grind out valuable win

ASD Seravezza Calcio edged past ASD Flaminia Civita Castellana 1-0 on Sunday 11 October 2026, claiming three hard-earned points in an Italian Serie D fixture that kicked off at 21:00. The contest was decided by a single goal, and the home side's defensive discipline in the closing stages proved every bit as important as the strike that won it.

It was a match that demanded patience. Both teams defended with commitment, the midfield areas were congested, and clear chances were rare — which made the winning moment all the more valuable.

Match overview

Seravezza Calcio approached the game with a balanced shape, looking to build from the back while keeping enough bodies behind the ball to guard against Flaminia's counter-attacks. The visitors, travelling from Lazio, set up to frustrate, defending in numbers and looking to exploit any space left behind the home full-backs.

The result was a cagey, tactical affair in which territory was contested fiercely and the two goalkeepers were protected well by their defences.

Key moments

• The winning goal: Seravezza broke the deadlock with a well-executed attacking move that found space in the penalty area.
• Flaminia's best opportunity: The visitors nearly responded immediately, only for a shot from the edge of the box to drift narrowly wide.
• Defensive resilience: Seravezza's back line held firm through a spell of sustained Flaminia pressure in the second half.
• Game management: The hosts used their experience to slow the tempo in the final minutes and see out the result.

Tactical story of the game

Seravezza's victory was built on control of the middle third. By winning the majority of second balls and pressing intelligently when Flaminia attempted to play out, the home side prevented their opponents from establishing any rhythm in possession.

The goal itself came from a moment of quick thinking — a switch of play that caught the visitors' defensive block shifting in the wrong direction. It was the kind of move Seravezza had been building towards throughout the first half, and it demonstrated the value of persistence against a deep-lying defence.

After taking the lead, Seravezza's approach became noticeably more pragmatic. They dropped their line slightly, invited pressure in areas where it was safe to do so and relied on their centre-backs to clear crosses. It was not always comfortable viewing for the home supporters, but it was effective.

Standout performers

The Seravezza goal scorer will take the plaudits, but the team's most consistent performer was the defensive midfielder, who covered ground relentlessly and repeatedly intercepted passes at the base of the midfield. The goalkeeper also earned his clean sheet with a confident, commanding display.

Flaminia Civita Castellana can take encouragement from the organisation of their defensive unit and the energy of their wing-backs, who pushed forward willingly even after falling behind. Their issue was a lack of quality in the final third, where promising positions repeatedly came to nothing.

Season context and what comes next

Narrow home victories of this type are the currency of a successful Serie D season. Seravezza Calcio will know that not every match can be won with fluency, and the ability to secure three points on an evening when the attacking play did not fully click is a meaningful asset.

For Flaminia Civita Castellana, the defeat is a reminder that away days in this division often hinge on taking the few chances that present themselves. Both sides now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures, with Seravezza looking to build on a clean sheet and Flaminia seeking a sharper attacking edge.
