Vibonese Brush Aside Ragusa with Convincing Away Win

Vibonese produced a dominant away performance to beat ASD Ragusa Calcio 3-1 in their Italian Serie D fixture on 25 October 2026. The visitors were clinical in front of goal and controlled large periods of the match, handing Ragusa their second home defeat of the season.

Ragusa started the game brightly, but they were undone by a well-organised Vibonese side that combined solid defending with incisive counter-attacking. The away team took the lead midway through the first half and never looked back, adding two more goals after the break.

Match Overview

The opening exchanges were even, but Vibonese struck first in the 27th minute when Salvatore Gitto finished off a swift counter-attack. Ragusa responded well and equalised just before half-time through a header from Davide Lo Presti, giving the home fans hope.

However, Vibonese regained control in the second half. They retook the lead in the 58th minute via a penalty converted by Domenico Rao, and then sealed the win in the 82nd minute with a breakaway goal from substitute Luca Ferrazzo. Ragusa pushed forward late, but Vibonese’s defence held firm.

Key Moments

• 27' – Salvatore Gitto opens the scoring for Vibonese on the counter.
• 44' – Davide Lo Presti heads home an equaliser for Ragusa.
• 58' – Domenico Rao converts a penalty to restore Vibonese’s lead.
• 82' – Luca Ferrazzo seals the win with a cool finish.

Tactical Story

Vibonese set up to absorb pressure and hit on the break, and they executed that plan to perfection. Their midfield sat deep, denying Ragusa space in the final third, and their quick transitions caused problems all evening. Ragusa enjoyed more possession but lacked penetration, and their defensive errors proved costly.

Standout Players

Salvatore Gitto was a constant threat for Vibonese, while Domenico Rao controlled the midfield and scored the crucial penalty. For Ragusa, Davide Lo Presti was their best performer, scoring the equaliser and leading the line bravely.

League Impact

The three points lift Vibonese into a strong position in the Serie D standings, underlining their promotion credentials. ASD Ragusa Calcio, meanwhile, will need to address their defensive vulnerabilities after conceding three goals at home. The defeat leaves them with work to do as the season progresses.
