ASD Millesimo Calcio and Sanremese played out a 1-1 draw in their Italian Serie D fixture on 24 October 2026, sharing the points after a balanced and closely contested match.

Both teams had spells of control, and the scoreline reflected the overall shape of the game. Millesimo Calcio benefited from home support and pressed forward with purpose, while Sanremese showed composure in possession and carried a consistent threat on the break.

Match overview

The opening phase was cautious, with both sides wary of conceding first. Millesimo gradually settled into the match and began to use the width of the pitch, stretching Sanremese’s defensive block and creating half-chances from crosses and set pieces. Sanremese defended with discipline and looked to transition quickly whenever they won possession.

The game opened up after the first goal. Millesimo’s breakthrough lifted the home crowd, but Sanremese responded with greater urgency and found an equaliser before the match drifted into a more balanced final period. Neither side was able to find a winning goal, despite late efforts at both ends.

Key moments

• Millesimo opener: The home side broke the deadlock after sustained pressure, converting a chance from a dangerous attacking move.
• Sanremese equaliser: The visitors responded well, finding space between the lines and finishing with composure.
• Goalkeeping interventions: Both goalkeepers made important saves to keep the score level.
• Late chances: Each team had opportunities to win it, but the final touch was missing in the closing minutes.

Tactical story

Millesimo Calcio’s plan revolved around controlling possession and getting numbers into wide areas. Their full-backs pushed forward regularly, and the midfield looked to recycle the ball quickly when direct attacks were blocked. That approach produced the opening goal but also left space for Sanremese to counter.

Sanremese were compact without the ball and patient in possession. Their equaliser came from a well-timed transition, and they grew in confidence after scoring. In the final stages, both teams traded attacks, but neither managed to impose enough control to claim all three points.

Standout performers

Millesimo’s midfield worked hard to link play and support the attack, while their goalkeeper made a crucial stop to prevent Sanremese from taking the lead later in the game. Sanremese’s defenders stood firm under pressure, and their attacking players caused problems with sharp movement and quick combinations.

Season impact

The draw adds a point to both teams’ Serie D totals and leaves each side with mixed emotions. Millesimo Calcio will feel they did enough to push for a win on home soil, while Sanremese will value the resilience shown in coming from behind.

In a league where consistency is crucial, neither side will want to dwell too long on the result. Both will take positives from the performance and look to turn promising spells into victories in their next fixtures.
