Caldiero Terme Grind Out 1-0 Win Over Scanzorosciate

ASD Caldiero Terme continued their strong start to the Serie D season with a disciplined 1-0 victory over Scanzorosciate on September 20, 2026. A second-half goal from Andrea Gatti was enough to separate the sides in a match that was short on clear-cut chances but high on commitment and tactical awareness.

Match Overview

At their home ground, Caldiero Terme looked to impose themselves early, while Scanzorosciate sat deep and looked to frustrate. The visitors' game plan worked for the first hour, but a set-piece routine finally broke the deadlock. Scanzorosciate pushed for an equaliser late on, but Caldiero's defence held firm to secure all three points.

Key Moments

• 31' – Caldiero free-kick: A dipping effort from outside the box forced a fine save from the Scanzorosciate goalkeeper.
• 54' – Caldiero goal: Andrea Gatti rose highest from a corner and powered a header into the net.
• 72' – Scanzorosciate response: A quick break ended with a shot that flashed just wide of the post.
• 89' – Last chance: Scanzorosciate's striker headed over from six yards under pressure.

Tactical Story

Caldiero Terme deployed a 4-3-3 with an emphasis on controlling possession and switching play quickly. Scanzorosciate lined up in a 5-3-2, looking to deny space in wide areas and hit on the counter. The deadlock was broken from a corner, highlighting Caldiero's work on set plays. After the goal, the home side managed the game expertly, slowing the tempo and keeping the ball in the corners.

Standout Players

Andrea Gatti was the hero with his towering header, and his all-round defensive work in midfield was equally valuable. Caldiero goalkeeper Lorenzo Bianchi made two crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet. For Scanzorosciate, captain Marco Villa battled tirelessly in midfield but lacked support in attack.

Season Impact

The win lifts Caldiero Terme to seventh in the Serie D table, just a few points off the playoff places. Scanzorosciate remain fifteenth, and while they showed defensive resilience, they will need to find more creativity if they are to climb away from the lower reaches of the standings.
