ASD Brian Lignano 1-3 Luparense FC — Luparense FC produced one of the most convincing away performances of the Serie D weekend, winning 3-1 at ASD Brian Lignano on Sunday evening in a game they controlled almost from the first whistle.

Match Overview

The visitors arrived with a clear plan: press high, win the ball quickly and attack the space behind Lignano's back line. It worked beautifully. Luparense were sharper in every department — quicker to loose balls, more decisive in the final third and far more clinical in front of goal — and by the time the hosts found any rhythm, the game was effectively gone.

Key Moments

• 12' — Luparense open the scoring: A high turnover in the Lignano half ended with a first-time shot from the edge of the box that beat the goalkeeper low to his left.
• 34' — It's two: A quick counter-attack down the right was squared across the six-yard box for a simple tap-in.
• 52' — Lignano pull one back: A superb free-kick from 22 yards gave the home side a lifeline and lifted the crowd.
• 67' — The decisive third: Luparense restored their two-goal cushion with a header from a corner, killing the momentum the hosts had built.
• 84' — Late Lignano pressure: The home side threw bodies forward but found the Luparense goalkeeper in excellent form.

Tactical Story

Luparense's 4-2-3-1 became a 4-4-2 out of possession, with the two wide attackers tucking in to deny Lignano any easy route through central midfield. That compression forced the hosts into long, hopeful passes, which the Luparense centre-backs dealt with comfortably all evening. In transition, Luparense were devastating — three of their best chances came within ten seconds of winning the ball back.

ASD Brian Lignano's best spell came between the 45th and 70th minutes, when a switch to a back four gave them extra numbers in attack. The free-kick goal was just reward for that period, but the defensive lapse from the subsequent corner summed up their night: promising going forward, fragile at the back.

Standout Players

Luparense's attacking midfielder dictated the tempo and was involved in two of the three goals, while their right-back delivered a tireless performance both defensively and as an overlapping outlet. For Lignano, the free-kick scorer was the brightest note on a difficult evening, and their goalkeeper prevented the margin from becoming heavier with a string of second-half saves.

Serie D Table Impact

Three points on the road is exactly the kind of result that shapes a Serie D season, and Luparense FC move into a healthier position in the standings with a healthy goal difference to match. For ASD Brian Lignano, the defeat is a reminder of how punishing this division can be: they competed for long stretches but were undone by the quality of their opponent's finishing. Improving their defending from set pieces will be the priority before the next round of fixtures.
