ASD Aranova produced a dominant display to beat Trastevere Calcio 2-0 in their Italian Serie D fixture on October 11, 2026, at the Stadio Comunale di Aranova. Two well-taken goals and a disciplined defensive performance secured all three points for the hosts in a match they controlled from start to finish.

Match Overview

Aranova came out of the blocks with real purpose, pressing Trastevere Calcio high up the pitch and forcing them into mistakes. The breakthrough came in the 12th minute when Andrea Moretti rose unmarked to head home a precise cross from the left. The goal settled any early nerves and allowed Aranova to dictate the tempo. Trastevere, clearly rattled, struggled to string passes together and were often reduced to hopeful long balls.

The second half saw Aranova double their lead in the 64th minute. A quick counterattack, led by the outstanding Luca Ferretti, ended with the winger cutting inside and curling a left-footed shot into the far corner. Trastevere tried to respond, but their frustrations boiled over in the 78th minute when a reckless challenge resulted in a red card, leaving them with ten men. Aranova comfortably saw out the remaining time to secure a convincing victory.

Key Moments

• 12' – Andrea Moretti heads Aranova into a 1-0 lead from a pinpoint cross.
• 29' – Trastevere's only real chance of the first half, a shot from distance, flies just over.
• 64' – Luca Ferretti doubles the lead with a superb curling effort after a fast break.
• 78' – Trastevere are reduced to ten men after a second yellow card for a late tackle.
• 90+2' – Aranova nearly add a third, but the substitute's shot is tipped over the bar.

Tactical Story

Aranova set up in a 4-3-3 with an emphasis on pressing triggers and quick vertical passes. Their front three worked tirelessly to cut off Trastevere's build-up from the back, forcing errors and winning the ball high. Once in possession, Aranova looked to get the ball wide quickly and deliver early crosses. This approach paid dividends for both goals.

Trastevere Calcio, usually a well-organised side, were uncharacteristically sloppy. Their 4-2-3-1 formation left gaps between midfield and defence, which Aranova exploited repeatedly. After the red card, Trastevere switched to a 4-4-1, but by then the game was already beyond them. Aranova's manager will be particularly pleased with the clean sheet, a testament to their defensive concentration.

Standout Players

Luca Ferretti was the standout performer, scoring a brilliant goal and causing problems all evening with his pace and direct running. Andrea Moretti also impressed, not only for his goal but for his hold-up play and link-up with the midfield. In defence, captain Matteo Ricci led by example, making several crucial clearances. For Trastevere, it was a night to forget, though goalkeeper Davide Conti made a few decent saves to keep the score respectable.

Table and Season Impact

The win lifts ASD Aranova into the playoff places in the Serie D standings, a significant boost to their season aspirations. Trastevere Calcio, meanwhile, miss the chance to close the gap on the top teams and will need to regroup quickly. Aranova's home form is becoming a real asset, and if they can maintain this level of performance, they could be a dark horse for promotion.
