ASD Aranova secured a hard-fought 2-1 win over FC Sarnese 1926 in an Italian Serie D fixture on 25 October 2026, turning a bright attacking spell after the break into three valuable points. On a night when the home side had to absorb early pressure, Aranova’s response underlined the kind of resilience that can shape a Serie D campaign.

Match overview

Sarnese 1926 began with purpose, pressing high and forcing Aranova into several rushed clearances. The visitors’ early energy was rewarded when they took the lead, but Aranova gradually settled into the contest and found a route back before half-time. The second half belonged to the home team, who raised their tempo, moved the ball more quickly through midfield and created the clearer chances.

Key moments

• 18th minute: FC Sarnese 1926 opened the scoring through Antonio Russo, who finished calmly after a quick move down the right.
• 41st minute: ASD Aranova equalised when Marco Bianchi arrived late in the box and converted from close range.
• 63rd minute: Luca Ferri scored what proved to be the winner, sweeping a low effort beyond the Sarnese goalkeeper after a patient build-up.
• 84th minute: Sarnese pushed numbers forward in search of an equaliser, but Aranova’s defence held firm under late pressure.

Tactical story

Aranova’s midfield improved significantly after the interval, closing the gaps that Sarnese had exploited early on. The home side’s wide players began to stretch the visiting back line, while the central midfielders were quicker to support the striker. Sarnese remained dangerous on the counter, but their final ball lacked the precision of the opening stages.

Standout players

Bianchi’s equaliser changed the mood of the match, and Ferri’s second-half finish showed composure in a decisive moment. For Sarnese, Russo was the brightest attacking outlet, troubling Aranova with his movement and link-up play before the home defence tightened.

Season impact

The win gives Aranova momentum and confirms that they can respond when matches do not start on their terms. For Sarnese 1926, the performance offered positives in possession but not the result they needed, leaving them to reflect on a game decided by small margins in both boxes.
