ACD SantAngelo 1-2 USD Castellanzese — USD Castellanzese claimed a hard-earned 2-1 victory at ACD SantAngelo on Sunday evening, with a late goal settling a contest that had swung back and forth throughout.

Match Overview

This was a game of fine margins between two well-matched Serie D sides. ACD SantAngelo enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges, Castellanzese grew stronger as the match progressed, and a decisive moment in the closing stages sent the away supporters home happy. It was a scrappy, competitive, thoroughly honest Italian fourth-tier fixture — and all the better for it.

Key Moments

• 31' — Castellanzese strike first: A well-timed run from midfield was picked out by a threaded pass, and the striker finished calmly past the advancing goalkeeper.
• 49' — SantAngelo level: A long throw into the box caused chaos and the ball was bundled over the line from close range.
• 65' — Goalkeeping heroics: Castellanzese's keeper made a stunning double save to deny SantAngelo the lead.
• 82' — The winner: A quick counter-attack down the right ended with a low cross converted at the back post.
• 90+4' — Last-gasp chance: SantAngelo's final attack ended with a header that cleared the crossbar.

Tactical Story

ACD SantAngelo set up with a narrow midfield and looked to overload the centre of the pitch, using their full-backs high and wide to stretch the Castellanzese back four. It produced plenty of possession and a steady stream of crosses, but the final ball was repeatedly overhit or blocked.

USD Castellanzese were more vertical in their approach, happy to defend in a mid-block and then attack at speed once they won the ball. Their two goals came from exactly that pattern — a pass into space for the first, a rapid transition for the second. It was a pragmatic, well-executed game plan from a side that clearly knows its strengths.

Standout Players

Castellanzese's goalkeeper was the difference between one point and three, making the double save at 1-1 that kept his team level at the most fragile moment of the match. The winger who supplied the assist for the winner was a constant outlet on the break. For SantAngelo, the central midfielder dictated play intelligently and was at the heart of nearly every promising attack.

Serie D Table Impact

The win gives USD Castellanzese a valuable away scalp and strengthens their position in the standings, underlining their ability to grind out results on the road. ACD SantAngelo are left to rue their missed opportunities, particularly during the ten minutes after equalising when they looked the more likely winner. Their attacking play is clearly functional; the challenge now is defending transitions better and turning home dominance into points.
