AC Palazzolo and Piacenza Share the Spoils in 1-1 Draw

AC Palazzolo and Piacenza played out a competitive 1-1 draw in Italian Serie D on 25 October 2026, with a late equaliser denying Piacenza all three points. Piacenza had looked the more controlled side for long spells, but Palazzolo’s persistence paid off with a goal eight minutes from time.

Match Overview

Piacenza took the lead in the 34th minute when Francesco Rossi found space at the edge of the box and guided a low finish into the corner. The visitors managed the game well after that, slowing the tempo and limiting Palazzolo’s access to the final third. Palazzolo, however, stayed in the contest and increased their pressing after the hour mark.

Key Moments

• 34’ – Goal: Rossi gives Piacenza the lead with a composed finish from the edge of the area.
• 58’ – Save: Palazzolo goalkeeper Davide Colombo denies Piacenza a second with a strong one-on-one stop.
• 88’ – Equaliser: Andrea Bianchi arrives late in the box to turn home a cross from the left.
• 90+2’ – Final chance: Piacenza win a free-kick in a dangerous area, but the delivery is cleared.

Tactical Story

Piacenza’s 4-3-3 gave them control in midfield, with quick switches of play stretching Palazzolo’s back line. Palazzolo struggled to build sustained attacks early on, but their 4-4-2 became more aggressive in the second half as the forwards began to press the Piacenza centre-backs. The equaliser came from exactly that improved intensity, with Palazzolo winning the ball higher and delivering into the box.

Standout Players

Bianchi’s late goal made him Palazzolo’s key figure, but Colombo’s save at 1-0 kept the home side alive. For Piacenza, Rossi was influential throughout, linking midfield and attack with sharp movement. Defender Matteo Galli also impressed with his reading of the game before Piacenza conceded late.

Season Impact

Piacenza remain among the teams to watch in the Serie D promotion race, but dropping two points late will frustrate their dressing room. Palazzolo, meanwhile, will view the draw as a platform: it shows they can compete with one of the division’s stronger names and gives them something to build on in the coming weeks.
