Spezia and Latina Calcio 1932 shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in Italian Serie C on 24 October 2026. At the Stadio Alberto Picco, Spezia took the lead but were pegged back by a determined Latina side who grew into the contest and earned a point with a committed second-half display.

Match overview

Spezia began the match with purpose, controlling possession and asking Latina to defend deep. The home side’s pressure eventually told when they opened the scoring, rewarding their early dominance and giving the Picco crowd something to cheer.

Latina responded well after the interval. They pressed higher, closed the gaps between midfield and defence, and began to create chances of their own. The equaliser arrived as Latina’s persistence paid off, and from there both sides traded spells of pressure without finding a winner.

Key moments

• Spezia took the lead in the first half after a spell of controlled possession.
• Latina improved after the break and found the equaliser with a well-timed attacking move.
• Both teams had chances to win it late on, but the goalkeepers stood firm.
• A tense final period saw neither side willing to overcommit in search of a decisive goal.

Tactical story

Spezia’s approach was patient and possession-heavy. They looked to draw Latina out of their defensive shape, move the ball side to side, and then attack through the half-spaces. That worked well in the first half, but Latina adjusted after the break by pressing more aggressively and denying Spezia easy access to midfield.

Latina’s equaliser changed the mood of the match. The visitors defended with greater confidence and threatened on the counter, while Spezia were forced to take more risks. In the end, the home side could not find the quality needed to break Latina down a second time.

Standout performers

Spezia’s creative players showed flashes of quality, especially in the first half, while their goalkeeper made an important save to prevent Latina from taking the lead during their best spell. Latina’s midfield worked tirelessly to turn the game around, and their defensive unit held firm under late pressure to secure a useful away point.

What it means

The draw keeps both teams in the thick of the Serie C conversation, though both will feel they could have taken more. Spezia will be frustrated at letting a lead slip at home, while Latina will take confidence from their response and the resilience shown away from home. In a long season, points like this often prove valuable.
