Sassari Torres and FC Vado shared the points in Serie C on 26 September 2026, with their meeting at the Stadio Vanni Sanna ending 0-0. On a night when both sides created enough to win, the game finished without a goal — a frustrating outcome for the hosts in particular, who will feel they did more than enough to take all three points.

Match Overview

The 20:30 kick-off brought a lively crowd and a strong start from the home side, who pressed high and forced Vado into a series of hurried clearances. Yet the visitors defended with real determination, throwing bodies in front of shots and clearing their lines whenever danger arose. As the match wore on, Vado grew into the contest and began to find space on the counter, though they too were unable to find a breakthrough.

It is a result that keeps both clubs unbeaten in the round but leaves each with a sense of what might have been. In the tightly packed Serie C table, dropped home points can be costly over the course of a long season.

Key Moments

• An early Torres effort from the edge of the box clipped the outside of the post.
• Vado's goalkeeper produced the save of the match to deny a close-range header midway through the first half.
• Just before the break, Torres appealed for a penalty after a tangle in the area, but the referee waved play on.
• The best chance of the second half fell to the hosts, who dragged their shot wide with the goal at their mercy.
• Vado nearly snatched it late, breaking clear only for the home goalkeeper to stand tall.

Tactical Story

Torres approached the game with a clear attacking intent: overload the flanks, deliver early crosses and squeeze the opposition deep into their own third. It produced plenty of entries into the final third but not the quality of finish required. Vado's back line sat narrow and deep, conceding crosses but winning the crucial second balls inside the box.

The visitors' plan was pragmatic and, in the end, effective. They defended their penalty area well, slowed the game down where possible, and looked to hit on the break with direct running. A point away from home against one of the group's more ambitious sides is a result Vado will gladly take.

Standout Performers

Torres' goalkeeper was alert on the rare occasions Vado threatened, while their central midfield pair kept the tempo high and the ball circulating. The team's most dangerous outlet was their left-sided attacker, who beat his man repeatedly but could not find the final ball. For Vado, the goalkeeper was unquestionably the man of the match, and their centre-back partnership showed excellent discipline in holding the line under sustained pressure.

Table and Season Impact

Both clubs add one point to their Serie C tally. Torres remain difficult to beat and continue to look like a side capable of climbing the group with more cutting edge in the final third. Vado's away clean sheet reinforces their reputation as a stubborn opponent on the road, and they will view this as a point gained rather than two dropped.

The lesson from Sassari is familiar: possession and territory mean nothing without a goal.
