Renate AC 0-0 AC Dolomiti Bellunesi: Goalless Draw in Serie C

Renate AC and AC Dolomiti Bellunesi played out a 0-0 draw in Italian Serie C, a match defined by two organised defences and a pair of goalkeepers who refused to be beaten. Despite several promising moments, neither side could find the breakthrough.

The result adds another point to both clubs’ tallies, but it will be Renate who feel the greater sense of opportunity missed after they were awarded a second-half penalty. Dolomiti Bellunesi, meanwhile, will be pleased with a disciplined away performance and a clean sheet.

Match Overview

The first half was a cautious affair. Renate tried to build through midfield, while Dolomiti Bellunesi sat in a compact block and looked to counter. The visitors thought they had scored early when a close-range finish hit the net, but the flag was raised for offside, and the goal was disallowed.

Renate grew into the game after the break. Their best chance came from the penalty spot after a foul inside the area, but the Dolomiti goalkeeper guessed correctly and made a fine save. The home side pushed late for a winner, sending extra bodies forward, yet the visitors held firm with a series of blocks and clearances.

Key Moments

• 18' — Dolomiti Bellunesi have a goal ruled out for offside after a quick attacking move.
• 41' — Renate’s first clear opening ends with a header over the crossbar.
• 64' — Renate win a penalty, but the Dolomiti goalkeeper saves brilliantly.
• 79' — A Dolomiti free-kick is tipped over the bar by the Renate goalkeeper.
• 90+2' — Renate’s last chance is blocked in a crowded penalty area.

Tactical Story

Renate favoured a patient possession game, using their midfield triangle to circulate the ball and draw Dolomiti out of shape. However, the visitors’ back line stayed connected and rarely allowed space in behind. When Renate did find crossing positions, Dolomiti’s centre-backs dealt with the danger.

Dolomiti Bellunesi were happy to concede territory at times and attack through transitions. Their best moments came when they won the ball in midfield and immediately played forward. The disallowed goal was a warning sign for Renate, and it forced the home side to be more careful with their rest defence.

Standout Players

The Dolomiti Bellunesi goalkeeper was the clear man of the match, saving the penalty and commanding his box throughout. His defence also deserved credit for limiting Renate to mostly speculative efforts from distance.

For Renate, the midfield anchor worked tirelessly to recover possession and start attacks, while the left winger was their most creative outlet. The penalty miss, however, will linger in the memory as the moment the game slipped away.

Serie C Impact

A goalless draw can be a valuable result on the road, and Dolomiti Bellunesi will take confidence from their defensive resolve. Renate, meanwhile, remain difficult to beat but will need to convert chances if they are to climb the Serie C table consistently.

With the campaign still young, both sides have time to address their attacking shortcomings. If they can add a sharper final touch to their solid foundations, this draw may look like a useful stepping stone rather than two dropped points.
