Desenzano Calvina claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over AC Dolomiti Bellunesi in the Italian Serie C PRO Cup on 29 October 2026, with a second-half goal deciding a tight and hard-fought contest.

The match was low on clear chances but high on intensity, as both sides battled for control in midfield. Desenzano’s patience and defensive discipline eventually paid off, while Bellunesi were left to rue a missed opportunity to take the tie to extra time.

Ferri decides the contest

The first half was cagey, with neither goalkeeper seriously tested. Desenzano tried to build through midfield, while Bellunesi pressed aggressively and looked to force mistakes. The best chance of the opening period fell to Bellunesi from a corner, but the header drifted wide.

Desenzano raised their tempo after the break and found the breakthrough in the 52nd minute. Luca Ferri received the ball on the edge of the box, created space with a sharp turn and guided a low shot into the corner. It was a goal of real quality in a match that had offered little room for attackers.

Bellunesi push late

Bellunesi responded with their best spell of the game. They moved the ball quicker, pushed more players forward and began to test Desenzano’s defence with crosses and long-range efforts. Desenzano’s goalkeeper made two important saves to preserve the lead, including a strong stop from a free-kick in the 79th minute.

The visitors’ hopes suffered a blow in the 88th minute when a second yellow card reduced them to ten men. Desenzano used their numerical advantage to keep possession in the closing stages and see out the win.

Key moments

• 24’ — Bellunesi head wide from a promising corner.
• 52’ — Luca Ferri scores the opening goal with a low finish.
• 71’ — Desenzano’s goalkeeper saves a powerful effort from distance.
• 79’ — Another important save keeps Desenzano ahead.
• 88’ — Bellunesi are reduced to ten men after a second booking.

Tactical story

Desenzano set up with a compact 4-4-2, looking to deny space in central areas and attack through quick combinations on the flanks. Their midfield stayed disciplined, limiting Bellunesi’s ability to play through the middle. The goal came from a moment of individual skill rather than a sustained spell of pressure.

Bellunesi’s pressing was effective in the first half but became less coordinated as the game wore on. Their late push created half-chances, but Desenzano’s defence held firm and managed the game well after the red card.

Standout performers

Luca Ferri was the match-winner with the only goal and a lively performance in attack. Desenzano’s goalkeeper deserves credit for two crucial saves, while the central defenders dealt well with Bellunesi’s late aerial pressure.

What it means

Desenzano Calvina progress in the Serie C PRO Cup with a hard-earned clean sheet and a confidence-boosting result. For AC Dolomiti Bellunesi, the defeat is a tough one to take after a committed display, but their performance showed they can compete in knockout football. Desenzano will now look forward to the next round with momentum behind them.
