Full-time: Pescara 1-2 Spezia

Spezia claimed a valuable 2-1 away win against Pescara in Italian Serie C on September 28, 2026. The visitors scored in each half and then survived late pressure to take all three points from a competitive fixture between two clubs with proud footballing traditions.

Match Overview

Spezia started strongly and took the lead early, catching Pescara cold with a quick attacking move. Pescara responded well and equalized before half-time, raising the intensity and using their wide players to stretch Spezia’s defense. However, Spezia regained control after the break and scored what proved to be the winner in the 67th minute.

Pescara pushed hard for a second equalizer in the final 20 minutes, forcing Spezia deeper and creating several half-chances. Spezia’s defense held firm, though, and the visitors managed the game well in the closing stages to secure an important road victory.

Key Moments

• Spezia opener: A sharp finish in the 18th minute gave the visitors the early advantage.
• Pescara equalizer: Pescara leveled in the 42nd minute with a well-placed shot from just inside the box.
• Spezia winner: The decisive goal came in the 67th minute after a quick counter-attack and a composed finish.
• Late pressure: Pescara forced several corners and a free-kick in a dangerous area, but Spezia cleared every threat.

Tactical Story

Spezia were happy to concede possession at times, sitting in a compact shape and looking to hit Pescara on the break. Their midfield worked hard to close central lanes, forcing Pescara to play wide. Once Spezia won the ball, they moved it forward quickly, targeting the space behind Pescara’s advanced full-backs.

Pescara controlled large portions of the game but struggled to break down Spezia’s low block. Their best moments came from crosses and set pieces, but a lack of precision in the final third cost them. Spezia’s ability to score in transition proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Standout Players

Spezia’s forward was excellent, scoring one goal and causing problems with his movement throughout. Their goalkeeper also made two important saves in the second half. For Pescara, the attacking midfielder was the creative spark, linking play and testing the defense, while the striker worked tirelessly but was starved of clear service.

Season Impact

The win strengthens Spezia’s position in the Italian Serie C table and gives them momentum in the race for promotion. Pescara’s home defeat is a setback, especially after they had fought their way back into the match. With the season still unfolding, Spezia’s ability to win away in tough environments could be a crucial factor, while Pescara must improve their home consistency to stay in contention.
