Inter Milan U23 and AS Sorrento Calcio played out a 1-1 draw in Italian Serie C on 24 October 2026. The young Inter side led for a significant part of the match, but Sorrento responded with a determined second-half performance to claim a point on the road.

Match overview

Inter Milan U23 started with energy and intent, using their technical quality to control possession and push Sorrento back. The home side’s movement in midfield created space, and their reward came when they took the lead during a strong first-half spell.

Sorrento stayed organised and gradually found a way into the game. After the break, the visitors pressed with more purpose and equalised to change the complexion of the match. Both sides pushed for a winner in the closing stages, but neither could find the decisive goal.

Key moments

• Inter Milan U23 opened the scoring in the first half after a composed attacking move.
• Sorrento improved after the interval and equalised with a well-taken goal.
• Inter pushed late for a winner, but Sorrento’s defence held firm.
• The visitors also had chances on the counter, making for an open final phase.

Tactical story

Inter Milan U23’s approach reflected their development philosophy: patient build-up, positional rotation, and a willingness to trust young players in tight areas. They looked comfortable in possession and created problems when their midfielders combined with the forward line.

Sorrento’s response was built on compactness and counterattacking. They defended in a disciplined block, limited Inter’s clearest chances after the equaliser, and looked dangerous when breaking forward. The visitors’ ability to adjust after the break was the key reason they left with a point.

Standout performers

Inter’s young midfielders showed composure beyond their years, while the home goalkeeper dealt well with Sorrento’s late pressure. Sorrento’s forward line worked hard and earned the equaliser through persistence, and their back line produced several important clearances in the final minutes.

What it means

The draw gives Inter Milan U23 another useful learning experience in Serie C, where the side continues to balance development with competitive results. Sorrento will be pleased with the character of their performance and the away point. Both teams remain focused on the long campaign ahead, with this match offering encouragement in different ways.
