Forli and US Pianese played out a goalless 0-0 draw in Italian Serie C on Sunday 25 October 2026, with both defences holding firm in a match that produced tension and late chances but no breakthrough.

Match overview

Forli controlled much of the possession and looked the more likely side to score for long periods, moving the ball patiently in search of an opening. Pianese, however, defended with discipline and limited the space around their penalty area, forcing the hosts into crosses and speculative efforts from distance.

The game opened up in the final 20 minutes as Forli committed more players forward. Pianese remained dangerous on the counter-attack and had opportunities to snatch all three points, but neither goalkeeper was beaten.

Key moments

• 26th minute: Forli created the first clear chance, with a header from a corner flashing just wide of the post.
• 62nd minute: Pianese’s goalkeeper made an important save, pushing a low drive around the post.
• 81st minute: Forli struck the woodwork after a neat move on the edge of the box.
• 90th minute: Pianese broke clear in stoppage time, but the final shot was blocked by a recovering defender.

Tactical story

Forli’s approach was built on patient build-up and getting their full-backs high to stretch Pianese’s defensive line. Pianese responded by defending narrow and forcing play wide, where crosses were easier to defend. The visitors also looked to break quickly whenever they won the ball, and that threat kept Forli from committing too many players forward until late on.

In the end, the tactical battle produced a stalemate. Forli will feel they did enough to win, while Pianese will be satisfied with a clean sheet and a point away from home.

Standout players

Pianese’s goalkeeper was the standout performer, making a crucial second-half save and commanding the area well. Forli’s centre-back was composed throughout and snuffed out several counter-attacks, while the home side’s midfielder kept the tempo high in possession.

Season impact

The draw adds a point to both teams’ tallies in the Italian Serie C standings. Forli remain difficult to beat at home but will want to find more cutting edge in the final third, while Pianese can take confidence from a disciplined defensive display on the road.
