Pineto and Forli share points in 1-1 Serie C draw

Asd Pineto Calcio and Forli played out a 1-1 draw in Italian Serie C, a result that reflected a game of two distinct halves. Pineto started strongly and took the lead through Marco Esposito, but Forli responded after the break and earned a point with Andrea Moretti’s equalizer.

The match was played at a good tempo, with Pineto pressing high and Forli looking to control possession. Pineto’s early goal gave them confidence, and they created several chances to extend their lead before half-time. Forli, however, stayed in the game, adjusted their shape at the interval, and were the better side for much of the second period.

Match overview

Pineto began with energy, winning the ball back quickly and attacking through the channels. Their opener came after a sustained spell of pressure, with Esposito finishing from close range. Forli struggled to find rhythm early on, but their goalkeeper kept them in the contest with two important saves. As the half progressed, Forli began to string passes together and finished the first 45 minutes on a stronger note.

The second half was a different story. Forli pushed their midfield higher, won more duels, and pinned Pineto back. Their equalizer arrived in the 67th minute when Moretti found space at the edge of the box and placed a shot into the bottom corner. Pineto had a late chance to win it, but a fine save from the Forli goalkeeper ensured the points were shared.

Key moments

• 22’ – 1-0: Marco Esposito gave Pineto the lead with a close-range finish after a goalmouth scramble.
• 39’ – Forli’s goalkeeper made a strong save to deny Pineto a second goal.
• 67’ – 1-1: Andrea Moretti equalized for Forli with a well-placed effort from outside the box.
• 88’ – Pineto’s best chance of the second half, headed just over from a corner.
• 90+2’ – Forli nearly won it on the counter, but the final shot went wide.

Tactical story

Pineto’s high press worked well in the first half, forcing turnovers and creating chances. However, it also left them vulnerable when Forli began to play through the lines after the break. Forli’s midfield rotations created overloads in wide areas, and their equalizer came from a moment of patient build-up. Pineto’s defense, so solid early on, started to drop deeper, inviting pressure.

Both managers made changes to influence the closing stages. Pineto brought on fresh legs in attack, while Forli reinforced midfield to protect the draw and look for a winner on the break. In the end, neither side could find a decisive second goal, and a draw was a fair reflection of the contest.

Standout players

Marco Esposito was Pineto’s standout performer, scoring the opener and leading the line with intelligent movement. Andrea Moretti was Forli’s key man, taking his goal well and driving his team forward in the second half. Forli’s goalkeeper also deserves mention for a series of saves that kept the score level.

Table impact

The point keeps Pineto in mid-table in Serie C and extends their recent run of competitive performances. Forli will be pleased with the comeback but may feel they could have won it late. Both teams remain within reach of the play-off places, and with the season still young, this draw could look like a useful result for either side by the final weeks.
