Tactical Story

Reggiana lined up in a 4-2-3-1, looking to use width through their full-backs. However, Spezia's 5-3-2 formation congested the middle and forced Reggiana into hopeful crosses. Spezia's back three, marshalled by captain Andrea Bianchi, dealt with everything thrown at them. The away side's counter-attacking strategy paid off with the winning goal.

Standout Players

Spezia's goalscorer Luca Vignali was the difference-maker, taking his chance clinically. Goalkeeper Marco Silvestri was also excellent, making two crucial saves. For Reggiana, midfielder Alessandro Cortesi worked tirelessly but lacked support in the final third.

Season Impact

Spezia move up to sixth in Serie C Girone B, while Reggiana stay outside the play-off places. The home defeat adds pressure on the coaching staff, with fans expecting a swift response in the next fixture. Reggiana's inability to break down compact defences remains a recurring theme this season.
