Virtus Entella and Juve Stabia Share the Spoils in Serie B Stalemate

ACD Virtus Entella and Juve Stabia played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Comunale in Chiavari on Saturday evening, a result that leaves both sides still searching for consistency in the early weeks of the Serie B campaign.

The match, played under the lights in front of a lively home crowd, was a tale of two halves. Entella started brightly, pressing high and creating several half-chances, but it was Juve Stabia who struck first against the run of play. The visitors, known for their compact defensive shape, caught Entella on the break in the 27th minute when Luca D'Agostino latched onto a through ball and slotted calmly past the goalkeeper.

Entella responded well after the interval. Head coach Gennaro Volpe made an attacking change, bringing on winger Matteo Basso, and the home side began to overload the flanks. Their persistence paid off in the 68th minute when Filippo Moscati rose highest to meet a corner from the right and powered a header into the net.

Key Moments

• 27' – Juve Stabia take the lead through Luca D'Agostino's composed finish on the counter.
• 45+2' – Entella's best chance of the first half falls to Moscati, but his shot is blocked on the line.
• 68' – Filippo Moscati equalises with a towering header from a corner.
• 84' – Juve Stabia nearly snatch a winner, but a goal-bound effort is cleared off the line by Entella's captain.

Tactical Story

Entella lined up in a 4-3-3, looking to dominate possession and use the width of the pitch. Juve Stabia, meanwhile, set up in a 3-5-2, happy to sit deep and spring quick counter-attacks. The visitors' game plan worked well in the first half, as they absorbed pressure and took their chance. However, Entella's second-half adjustments, particularly the introduction of fresh legs in wide areas, turned the tide. Juve Stabia dropped deeper as the game wore on, and their inability to keep the ball allowed Entella to sustain attacks.

Standout Players

Filippo Moscati (Virtus Entella) – The striker was a constant threat, holding up play and scoring the equaliser. His movement in the box caused problems all evening.

Luca D'Agostino (Juve Stabia) – The forward's pace and clinical finish gave his side the lead, and he remained a danger on the break.

Marco Zuppa (Virtus Entella) – The midfielder controlled the tempo and delivered the corner for the goal.

Season Impact

The draw leaves Virtus Entella unbeaten at home but still without a win in their last three matches. They sit in 12th place with 9 points from 8 games. Juve Stabia, meanwhile, move up to 15th with 7 points, a point above the relegation play-off zone. Both sides will feel this was a missed opportunity to climb the table, but the performance will give them confidence going forward. Entella next travel to Parma, while Juve Stabia host Cosenza.
