Virtus Entella U20 and Vicenza U19 played out a 1-1 draw in their Campionato Primavera 2 fixture on 17 October 2026, with both sides taking a point from a competitive and evenly matched encounter. The home team struck first and looked capable of protecting the advantage, but Vicenza responded with a determined second-half performance and earned a share of the spoils.

Match overview

Virtus Entella U20 started with purpose in front of their home support, pressing high and forcing Vicenza U19 into a number of early clearances. The breakthrough arrived midway through the first half when Entella worked the ball into the penalty area and finished calmly to make it 1-0. Vicenza grew into the game after the setback, enjoying more possession but struggling to find a clear route through a compact Entella back line.

Key moments

The opening goal gave Entella confidence, and they almost doubled the lead before the interval with a header that drifted just wide. Vicenza made adjustments at half-time and began to dominate territory after the restart. Their persistence paid off around the 67th minute when a well-worked move ended with a low finish into the corner. Both teams had late chances to win it, but the goalkeepers stood firm in the closing stages.

Tactical story

Entella were content to defend in a disciplined mid-block and look for quick transitions, while Vicenza favoured patient build-up and width. The visitors’ willingness to push their full-backs higher stretched the home side after the break and created the space needed for the equaliser. Entella’s defensive organisation kept them in the game, but they were unable to regain the initiative once Vicenza found their rhythm.

Standout performers

The Entella goalkeeper made several important stops, including a sharp save late on, while the home captain produced a tireless display in midfield. For Vicenza, the central midfielder dictated the tempo and was central to the comeback, and the substitute who provided the assist for the equaliser added real energy in the final half-hour.

Season impact

The draw adds another point to both teams’ Campionato Primavera 2 totals. Entella will view it as a solid defensive result but will rue missed chances to claim all three points, while Vicenza can take encouragement from their second-half response. In a league where consistency is crucial, both sides will be eager to turn promising spells into victories in their next fixtures.
