Lecco U19 produced a confident away performance to defeat Brescia U19 3-1 in the Italian Campionato Primavera 2 on Saturday night. A brace from Davide Conti helped Lecco control the contest, and despite Brescia briefly equalizing in the first half, the visitors always looked the more dangerous side going forward.

Match overview

Lecco started aggressively, pressing Brescia’s defenders and forcing mistakes in the early stages. The approach paid off inside the first 10 minutes when Conti opened the scoring. Brescia responded well and equalized just after the half-hour mark, but Lecco regained the lead before halftime and then added a third goal in the second half to put the result beyond doubt. Brescia pushed forward late in search of a way back into the game, but Lecco’s defensive discipline and counter-attacking threat kept the hosts at bay.

Tactical story

Lecco’s high pressing unsettled Brescia from the outset, forcing the home side into hurried clearances and misplaced passes. Lecco’s midfield worked tirelessly to close down space, and their quick transitions repeatedly exposed Brescia’s defensive shape. After Brescia equalized, Lecco showed maturity by regaining control rather than retreating, and the timing of their second goal just before halftime proved crucial. In the second half, Lecco managed the game well, dropping deeper when needed while still carrying a threat on the break.

Standout players

Conti was the standout performer with two goals and a constant presence in the attacking third. His movement off the ball created space for teammates, and his finishing was clinical. Lecco’s goalkeeper also deserves credit for a composed display, while the midfield’s energy and pressing set the platform for the victory. For Brescia U19, the equalizer was a bright moment, but individual errors in possession proved costly.

Season impact

The three points give Lecco U19 momentum in the Campionato Primavera 2 and reinforce their reputation as a well-drilled, hard-working side. Winning away against a fellow academy team is always valuable, and the scoreline reflects their efficiency in front of goal. Brescia U19, meanwhile, will need to address their struggles against high pressure and cut out the mistakes that gifted Lecco early opportunities. The result leaves Lecco in a positive frame of mind as they look ahead to their next fixtures, while Brescia must regroup quickly to avoid a difficult run.
