Bari U19 suffered a narrow 0-1 home defeat to Pescara Youth in the Italian Campionato Primavera 2 on 24 October 2026. A single second-half goal decided a tight contest, with Pescara Youth defending their lead bravely and Bari U19 unable to find a response despite a late surge.

Match overview

Bari U19 started with energy and looked to impose themselves on the game, but Pescara Youth were well organised and difficult to break down. The first half was a battle of patience, with Bari seeing more of the ball but struggling to create clear chances. Pescara grew in confidence as the match went on and found the decisive goal after the break. Bari pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but the visitors held firm under pressure.

Key moments

• 21st minute: Bari U19's first serious attempt came from a free-kick, but the Pescara goalkeeper saved comfortably.
• 43rd minute: Pescara Youth nearly took the lead before half-time, with a shot from the edge of the area striking the post.
• 58th minute: The breakthrough arrived when Pescara Youth converted a low cross from close range after a quick counter-attack.
• 73rd minute: Bari responded with a header from a corner, but the effort was cleared off the line.
• 88th minute: Bari's goalkeeper joined the attack for a late set piece, but Pescara defended the aerial threat and held on.

Tactical story

Bari U19 tried to control the game through midfield, but their build-up was often too slow, allowing Pescara Youth to recover into a compact defensive block. Pescara's plan was clear: stay disciplined, win the ball in midfield, and attack quickly into the space behind Bari's full-backs. That approach produced the only goal of the game. Bari made attacking substitutions and moved the ball more directly in the final 20 minutes, but Pescara's centre-backs dealt with the crosses and the midfield protected the penalty area well.

Standout performers

Pescara Youth's goalkeeper was excellent, making two important saves and commanding his box during Bari's late pressure. The goalscorer's movement in the build-up to the decisive goal was also crucial, while the Pescara captain led by example in midfield. For Bari U19, the left-back was their most consistent attacking outlet, and the goalkeeper kept the score at 0-1 with a strong second-half stop.

What the result means

Pescara Youth take a valuable three points from a difficult away fixture, strengthening their position in the Campionato Primavera 2. For Bari U19, the defeat is a frustrating one because they had enough possession to take something from the game. The challenge now is to turn territorial control into meaningful chances and to respond quickly in their next outing. In a development league, narrow defeats like this can be just as instructive as comfortable wins.
