Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv U19 made it a productive away day on 15 September 2026, defeating Hapoel Raanana Roei U19 by 3-1 in the Israel Youth League, with a clinical second-half performance proving the difference between the two sides.

Match Overview

Youth league football is often about development, but matches like this one show how competitive the Israeli academy circuit has become. Both teams fielded ambitious lineups, and the contest began at a high tempo, with Raanana looking to use their home familiarity and Bnei Yehuda keen to assert their technical superiority.

How the Match Unfolded

The visitors drew first blood, seizing on a defensive lapse to take the lead and settle any early nerves. Raanana responded well, earning a foothold in midfield and creating opportunities of their own, and their persistence was rewarded with an equaliser that brought the home crowd to life.

Parity, though, did not last. Bnei Yehuda restored their advantage before the interval, and after the break they managed the game expertly — sitting deeper, absorbing pressure and striking on the counter. Their third goal put the result beyond doubt and underlined the difference in finishing quality between the two teams on the day.

Key Moments

• Bnei Yehuda open the scoring early after pressing high up the pitch.
• Raanana equalise, briefly clawing their way back into the contest.
• Bnei Yehuda retake the lead before half-time.
• A third goal after the break seals a convincing away victory.

Tactical Story

Bnei Yehuda's pressing structure caused Raanana problems throughout, forcing rushed passes in the defensive third and creating turnovers in dangerous areas. When they won the ball back, their quick vertical passing repeatedly found runners in behind. Raanana's bright spells came when they played through the middle and used their wingers to stretch the opposition, but consistency was their undoing.

What It Means

Three points on the road is a valuable result in any youth league campaign, and Bnei Yehuda will view this as a statement performance. The manner of the victory — scoring three times against a competitive opponent — speaks to the attacking depth in their squad. For Raanana, the defeat is a learning experience; the individual errors that led to goals will be the focus of the coaching staff during the coming week.

Looking Ahead

Both academies will continue to measure progress through the development of individual players as much as results. Still, the competitive edge shown by Bnei Yehuda in the closing stages suggests they will be a difficult opponent for anyone in the Israel Youth League this season.
