Maccabi Holon FC Women edged Bnot Netanya Women 2-1 in the Israel Women's First National on October 22, 2026, with a late goal settling a closely contested match. Holon’s early control and Netanya’s second-half response made for an entertaining encounter that remained in the balance until the final stages.

Match overview

Maccabi Holon started confidently and took the lead in the 12th minute after a patient passing move opened space on the left. Netanya responded well, pressing higher and forcing Holon into several rushed clearances before half-time. The visitors continued that improved approach after the break and equalised in the 63rd minute when a shot from the edge of the box found the bottom corner.

With the match level, both sides had spells of control. Holon regained their composure, pushed their full-backs higher and created the decisive moment in the 84th minute. A cross from the right was only half-cleared, and Holon’s midfielder drove the ball back through a crowded penalty area to seal the win.

Key moments

• 12th minute – 1-0 Holon: A flowing move down the left ended with a close-range finish.
• 63rd minute – 1-1 Netanya: Bnot Netanya equalised with a low strike from outside the box.
• 84th minute – 2-1 Holon: Holon scored the winner after a partially cleared cross fell kindly at the edge of the area.
• 90th minute: Netanya sent a late header wide as they pressed for a stoppage-time equaliser.

Tactical story

Holon’s strength came from their control of the midfield and their willingness to switch play quickly. In the first half, that helped them pin Netanya back, but after the interval they dropped slightly too deep and allowed the visitors to build momentum. Netanya’s equaliser came during their best spell, when they pressed higher and forced turnovers in Holon’s half. The home side’s response was important: they raised their line again, kept the ball better in wide areas and found the winning goal through sustained pressure rather than a single moment of brilliance.

Standout players and table impact

Holon’s midfielder was the standout performer, combining energy with composure and scoring the decisive goal. Their goalkeeper also made two important stops at 1-1, including a strong save from a close-range effort. For Netanya, the equaliser showed their ability to respond away from home, but the late concession left them with nothing to show for a much-improved second half.

The 2-1 final score gives Maccabi Holon FC Women three points in the Israel Women's First National and keeps their home form on track. Bnot Netanya Women will take encouragement from their second-half performance, but the result highlights how costly small defensive lapses can be in a tight league race.
