Maccabi Ahi Nazareth endured a chastening evening in the Israel Leumit League as Hapoel Kfar Saba ran out emphatic 0-4 winners on Friday, October 16, 2026. The visitors were sharper in both boxes from the opening whistle and punished a series of defensive errors to claim all three points in convincing fashion.

Match overview

Played under the lights at Maccabi Ahi Nazareth’s home ground, the contest quickly turned into a one-sided affair. Hapoel Kfar Saba pressed high, won the midfield battle and repeatedly exploited space behind the Nazareth full-backs. By the time the half-time whistle blew, the away side had already established a two-goal cushion and looked in complete control.

Nazareth attempted to respond after the break with a more direct approach, but the game slipped away from them inside the opening quarter-hour of the second half. Hapoel added a third goal on the counter before rounding off the scoring late on, leaving the home supporters frustrated and the visitors celebrating a statement away win.

Key moments

• 12th minute: Hapoel Kfar Saba took the lead with a well-worked move down the right, finished confidently at the near post.
• 34th minute: A misplaced Nazareth pass was intercepted and punished immediately, doubling the advantage.
• 58th minute: The visitors struck on the break, slicing through the Nazareth defence to make it 0-3.
• 77th minute: A fourth goal sealed the rout, capping a dominant team performance.

Tactical story

Hapoel Kfar Saba’s midfield dominance was the foundation of the result. They won second balls consistently and used quick vertical passes to isolate Nazareth’s centre-backs. The home side, by contrast, struggled to string together meaningful possession and were often reduced to hopeful crosses that were comfortably dealt with.

Nazareth’s defensive line sat too deep for much of the match, inviting pressure and allowing Hapoel to dictate the tempo. When they did push forward, they left themselves exposed to counter-attacks, which proved fatal on at least two occasions.

Standout performers

Hapoel’s attacking unit deserves enormous credit. The striker who opened the scoring set the tone with relentless pressing, while the wide players consistently stretched the Nazareth back line. In midfield, the captain controlled the rhythm and delivered the kind of composed display that away teams need in tricky league fixtures.

For Maccabi Ahi Nazareth, there were very few positives. The goalkeeper made a couple of smart saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, but the outfield players will need a rapid response in their next fixture.

League impact

The win lifts Hapoel Kfar Saba into a more comfortable position in the Leumit League standings and strengthens their push for promotion contention. For Maccabi Ahi Nazareth, the 0-4 reverse is a significant blow to their goal difference and keeps them in the relegation-threatened part of the table. With the season still unfolding, the response in their next match will be crucial.
