Bnei Yehuda ground out a hard-earned 1-0 victory at Kafr Qasim on Friday night in the Israel Leumit League, with a single goal proving enough to settle a tight, physical contest. On a night when clear chances were at a premium, the visitors' ability to take the one genuine opening that came their way proved the difference between the two sides.

Match Overview

Kafr Qasim started with intent, pressing aggressively and using the energy of the home crowd to force Bnei Yehuda into a defensive posture. The hosts enjoyed the better of the opening half-hour, but their final ball repeatedly let them down, with crosses overhit and shots dragged wide of the target.

Bnei Yehuda weathered that early storm and gradually worked their way into the match, keeping possession more patiently and drawing fouls to relieve the pressure. Their breakthrough arrived with a moment of real quality, and from there the visitors defended their lead with a maturity that has become a trademark of their recent form.

Key Moments

• 19th minute: Kafr Qasim's best chance of the first half ends with a header drifting wide from a promising position.
• 37th minute: Bnei Yehuda take the lead, finishing neatly after a cleverly worked move down the left.
• 52nd minute: The visitors' goalkeeper makes a smart save low to his left to preserve the clean sheet.
• 70th minute: Kafr Qasim strike the woodwork with a curling free kick from the edge of the box.
• 86th minute: A last-ditch sliding tackle denies Kafr Qasim an equaliser in the six-yard box.

Tactical Story

This was a classic Leumit League arm-wrestle: two teams committed to winning their duels, with the midfield battle shaping everything. Bnei Yehuda's decision to sit slightly deeper after scoring was decisive, allowing their centre-backs to defend the space in front of goal rather than tracking runners in behind.

Kafr Qasim's manager made attacking changes and pushed extra bodies forward in the final 25 minutes, but the hosts' delivery from wide areas remained inconsistent. Bnei Yehuda's defenders dealt with the aerial bombardment superbly, clearing almost everything and shielding their goalkeeper intelligently.

Standout Performers

Bnei Yehuda's goalscorer showed excellent composure in the decisive moment, while their holding midfielder was arguably the best player on the pitch, breaking up play and recycling possession under pressure. Kafr Qasim's goalkeeper could do little about the goal and kept his side in the game with two important saves; their winger was the most consistent attacking threat throughout.

Season Impact

Winning away by a single goal is one of the most valuable habits in the Leumit League, and Bnei Yehuda's ability to manage tight games keeps them firmly in the conversation at the sharp end of the standings. Kafr Qasim, meanwhile, are left to rue another evening of effort without reward — a pattern that will need correcting if they are to avoid being dragged into the relegation scrap later in the season.

What's Next

Bnei Yehuda will look to carry this defensive discipline into their next outing, while Kafr Qasim must find a sharper cutting edge as they seek to turn narrow defeats into points.
