The result adds another valuable away win to Ashdod MS’s season, while Kafr Qasim are left frustrated after a performance that offered effort and organization but lacked the finishing touch. In a division where small margins often decide promotion and relegation battles, this was a classic example of a game turning on one decisive moment.

Match Overview

Kafr Qasim started with intent, pressing high and trying to force mistakes in Ashdod MS’s buildup. The hosts created a few half-chances in the opening 20 minutes, but the final ball was repeatedly cut out by a compact visiting defence. Ashdod MS were happy to absorb pressure and look for opportunities on the counter-attack.

The decisive goal arrived in the 73rd minute. Yonatan Sasson found space just outside the penalty area and drilled a low shot through a crowded box and into the bottom corner. The strike was greeted with relief from the away bench, and it forced Kafr Qasim to commit more bodies forward in the closing stages.

Kafr Qasim thought they had found an equalizer in the 86th minute, but the goal was ruled out for an offside in the buildup. That moment summed up the hosts’ evening: plenty of endeavor, but no reward. Ashdod MS held their nerve through five minutes of stoppage time to secure the clean sheet and the win.

Tactical Story

Ashdod MS set up to frustrate and counter. Their back four stayed narrow, forcing Kafr Qasim into wide areas, and the midfield protected the space in front of the defence. It was not always pretty, but it was effective. The visitors were also dangerous from set-pieces and transitions, and that is where the winning goal came from.

Kafr Qasim dominated possession but struggled to turn that control into clear chances. Their buildup was patient, yet the final pass often lacked precision. When they did break through, Ashdod MS’s goalkeeper and defenders made important interventions. The disallowed goal added to the sense that it was not going to be Kafr Qasim’s night.

Standout Players

Yonatan Sasson was the match-winner with a composed finish, while Ashdod MS’s goalkeeper and centre-backs were excellent in preserving the clean sheet. For Kafr Qasim, the midfield worked tirelessly and the wide players caused problems, but the hosts lacked a decisive presence in the penalty area.

Season Impact

The win lifts Ashdod MS and gives them confidence heading into their next Leumit League fixtures. For Kafr Qasim, the defeat is a reminder that territorial dominance must be converted into goals. Both teams remain in the thick of the league’s competitive pack, and this result could prove important when the final standings are calculated.
