Ashdod MS produced one of the standout away performances of the Israel Leumit League round on October 13, 2026, defeating Hapoel Kfar Saba 4-2 in a six-goal thriller at Levita Stadium. The result handed Ashdod a valuable three points in the second-tier promotion race and exposed Kfar Saba’s defensive inconsistency in front of their home supporters.

Match Overview

Hapoel Kfar Saba began with intent and tried to impose themselves through quick passes in wide areas. The home side’s early pressure paid off when they opened the scoring, but Ashdod MS responded with the kind of ruthless counter-attacking that has made them a dangerous opponent in the Israel Leumit League. By half-time, the visitors had turned the match around and led 2-1.

The second half followed a similar pattern: Kfar Saba pushed bodies forward, found an equaliser, and then left themselves exposed. Ashdod MS punished them twice more before the final whistle, sealing a 4-2 win that flattered neither side’s defensive record but perfectly reflected Ashdod’s superior finishing.

Key Moments

• 11' – Hapoel Kfar Saba take the lead: A low cross from the right was turned in at the near post after a spell of sustained home pressure.
• 23' – Ashdod equalise: The visitors broke at speed, with a diagonal pass releasing the winger, whose cut-back was converted from close range.
• 41' – Ashdod go ahead: A corner from the left was met by a powerful header, giving the Kfar Saba goalkeeper no chance.
• 56' – Kfar Saba level again: A clever free-kick routine opened space at the edge of the box, and a curling effort made it 2-2.
• 68' – Ashdod regain the lead: A misplaced pass in midfield was intercepted, and Ashdod’s striker finished clinically on the counter.
• 87' – Ashdod seal the win: With Kfar Saba committed forward, Ashdod added a fourth from another rapid transition, sparking celebrations among the travelling supporters.

Tactical Story

Hapoel Kfar Saba set up in a 4-3-3 and tried to control possession, but their midfield struggled to protect the back four when attacks broke down. Ashdod MS sat in a compact 4-2-3-1, invited pressure, and then attacked the spaces behind Kfar Saba’s advanced full-backs. The visitors won the majority of second balls in central areas and were especially dangerous from set pieces.

Kfar Saba’s inability to track runners was the defining issue. Twice they equalised and twice they conceded within minutes, a sign of concentration problems that will concern the coaching staff. Ashdod, by contrast, looked comfortable without the ball and efficient with it.

Standout Players

Ashdod’s centre-forward was the clear man of the match, scoring twice and leading the line with intelligent movement. The attacking midfielder also impressed, linking play and providing the assist for the crucial third goal. For Hapoel Kfar Saba, their No. 10 was the brightest spark, creating chances and scoring a well-taken free-kick, but his efforts were undermined by the team’s defensive lapses.

League Impact and Standings Context

This 4-2 result gives Ashdod MS a significant boost in the Israel Leumit League standings, strengthening their push for promotion contention. For Hapoel Kfar Saba, it is a costly home defeat that leaves them needing to improve quickly if they are to remain in the upper half of the table. The head-to-head now favours Ashdod, and the six-goal contest will be remembered as one of the round’s most entertaining matches.
