Tactical story: width, set pieces and transitions

Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi’s attacking plan relied on getting the ball wide and delivering early crosses into the box. Their first two goals came from exactly that kind of pressure, with the wingers stretching the defense and the midfielders arriving late to support. The third goal, however, showed a different side of their game: a patient build-up that ended with a clean strike from distance.

Hapoel Daliyat Al Karmel refused to fold. Their response was built on quick transitions and intelligent movement in the final third. The away side’s substitutes made an impact, adding energy and creating chances late on. In the end, Kiryat Malakhi’s early cushion proved just enough.

Standout performers

The home side’s forward line caused problems throughout, with the wide players combining well and the central striker holding up play effectively. In midfield, Kiryat Malakhi’s captain controlled the tempo and helped his team regain composure after Daliyat Al Karmel’s goal. For the visitors, the substitute who scored the late goal brought real spark, while their goalkeeper made several saves to keep the tie alive.

What the result means

The 3-2 win moves Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi into the next round of the Israel Cup, but the performance also exposed some defensive vulnerabilities they will want to address. Hapoel Daliyat Al Karmel exit with credit after a brave second-half fightback, but they will rue the slow start that left them chasing the game.
