Tzofi Haifa Demolish MS Netanya 5-1 in Israel C League Away Rout

Tzofi Haifa produced a ruthless away performance to beat MS Netanya 5-1 in the Israel C League on 18 September 2026, with a first-half blitz and a second-half hat-trick from Omer Ben David powering the visitors to a comprehensive victory. MS Netanya’s late consolation goal did little to soften the blow of a heavy home defeat that leaves them with serious questions to answer.

Match Overview

Tzofi Haifa started with intent and never allowed MS Netanya to settle. Their high press forced errors in the home defence, and they took the lead in the 11th minute when Omer Ben David finished neatly from inside the box. The second goal arrived just before the half-hour mark, again through Ben David, whose sharp movement left the Netanya centre-backs trailing.

Yossi Mizrahi added a third in the 39th minute, and the match was effectively over as a contest before half-time. Tzofi Haifa continued to dominate after the break, with Ben David completing his hat-trick in the 55th minute and Daniel Cohen adding a fifth in the 72nd. MS Netanya finally found the net through Eitan Cohen in the 84th minute, but it was no more than a consolation on a difficult afternoon.

Tactical Story

Tzofi Haifa lined up in a 4-3-3 and pressed aggressively from the front. MS Netanya tried to play out from the back, but Tzofi’s forwards closed down the centre-backs quickly, forcing long balls that were easily collected by the visiting midfield. The result was a constant stream of turnovers in dangerous areas, and Tzofi Haifa punished almost every mistake.

MS Netanya’s high defensive line was a particular problem. Tzofi Haifa’s attackers timed their runs well and repeatedly got in behind, with Ben David the chief beneficiary. When Netanya did manage to build attacks, they were hurried and predictable, often crossing from deep positions where Tzofi’s defenders had the advantage. The home side’s midfield struggled to track runners, and the scoreline reflected the gap in intensity and execution.

Standout Players

Omer Ben David was the man of the match, scoring a brilliant hat-trick and tormenting the Netanya defence throughout. His finishing was clinical, and his movement created space for his teammates. Yossi Mizrahi controlled the midfield and added a goal of his own, while Daniel Cohen capped a fine team performance with the fifth goal.

For MS Netanya, Eitan Cohen deserves credit for continuing to fight and scoring a late consolation. Goalkeeper Avi Malka made several saves to prevent an even heavier defeat, but he was left exposed by a defence that struggled to cope with Tzofi Haifa’s pace and pressing.

Table and Season Impact

The victory is a major boost for Tzofi Haifa’s goal difference and league position in the Israel C League standings. A 5-1 away win sends a clear message to the rest of the division, and the team’s attacking chemistry will be a concern for future opponents. For MS Netanya, the defeat is a setback that raises questions about their defensive organisation and confidence at home. They will need a quick response in their next fixture to avoid slipping further down the table, while Tzofi Haifa can build on a statement result that ranks among their best performances of the season.
