Beitar Tel Aviv Ramla came from behind to win 2–1 at Beitar Kfar Saba Shlomi in the Israel C League on Friday, turning a cagey away-day into three valuable points with a composed second-half performance. Trailing at the interval after conceding inside the opening half-hour, Ramla responded with two goals after the break to complete the turnaround and extend their strong run of form on the road.

It was a classic case of a match swinging on fine margins. Kfar Saba Shlomi started with real intensity, pressed high and were rewarded with the opening goal, but they could not sustain that tempo. Ramla adjusted, took control of midfield, and punished two defensive lapses to leave with a result that could prove significant when the Israel C League table is totted up at the end of the season.

How the Game Unfolded

Kfar Saba Shlomi made the brighter start and deservedly took the lead in the 22nd minute. A patient, probing move down the right ended with a low cross into the corridor between centre-back and goalkeeper, and Almog Dayan arrived ahead of his marker to steer the ball home from close range. The home crowd responded, and for the next ten minutes it looked as though the hosts might double their advantage while Ramla were still finding their footing.

The visitors, though, are not a side that panics. Ramla gradually nudged their defensive line higher, compressed the space in midfield and began to win second balls with greater regularity. The equaliser arrived eleven minutes before the interval, and it was a well-constructed one: a quick exchange on the edge of the box opened up a shooting lane, and Kobi Nahum struck first time into the bottom corner to level the scores.

The second half was a different contest entirely. Ramla dominated possession, moved the ball with purpose and pinned Kfar Saba Shlomi deep in their own half for long stretches. The pressure finally told in the 78th minute, when a delivery from the left was only half-cleared and Eliran Barda lashed the loose ball back through a crowded penalty area and into the net. Kfar Saba Shlomi pushed bodies forward in the closing stages, but Ramla's back line held firm.

Tactical Story

Kfar Saba Shlomi's plan was built on aggressive pressing and quick transitions, and for half an hour it worked beautifully. Their midfield pushed right up against Ramla's deep-lying playmaker, forcing hurried passes and generating turnovers in dangerous areas. The problem was sustainability: the same intensity that created the opening goal left gaps behind the midfield line once legs began to tire.

Ramla's adjustment was simple and effective. By dropping an extra man into central midfield and stretching the pitch through their wing-backs, they forced Kfar Saba's press to cover more ground. The hosts could not keep up with the workload, and from the 35th minute onward the game belonged almost exclusively to the visitors. Ramla's winning goal was a direct product of that territorial control — sustained pressure, a hurried clearance, and a decisive finish from the edge of the area.

Standout Players

Eliran Barda was Ramla's match-winner, and his willingness to arrive late in the box separated the two teams on the day. Kobi Nahum's equaliser was the turning point of the match, taken with the kind of composure that steadies a nervous away side. For Kfar Saba Shlomi, Almog Dayan took his goal confidently and was the hosts' most persistent threat, while their goalkeeper kept the deficit at one with a fine double save early in the second half.
