Full-time: Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi 3-3 Ironi Beit Shemesh

Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi and Ironi Beit Shemesh played out a breathless 3-3 draw in the Israel B League, with a late equaliser denying the hosts a victory in a match that swung dramatically from end to end.

Six goals, several lead changes and a finish that kept both sets of supporters on edge made this one of the more entertaining fixtures of the round. The point leaves both teams with something to build on, though Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi will feel the stronger sense of frustration after twice holding the advantage.

Match Overview

The hosts made the brighter start and took the lead inside the opening ten minutes when David Cohen found space between the centre-backs and finished calmly. Ironi Beit Shemesh responded with a period of sustained pressure and equalised midway through the first half through Omer Levi, whose low shot crept inside the post.

Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi regained the lead before the interval when Yossi Mizrahi converted from close range after a goalmouth scramble. But the second half produced a remarkable sequence of goals. Ironi Beit Shemesh scored twice in quick succession to turn the game around, only for Maccabi to find a late equaliser through Eli Ben-David.

Tactical Story

Both teams set up with attacking intent, and the midfield area became a revolving door of transitions. Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi tried to play through the lines and were at their best when their wide players drifted infield to create overloads. Ironi Beit Shemesh, meanwhile, were dangerous on the break and repeatedly exploited the space left behind the hosts’ advancing full-backs.

The game’s openness was both a strength and a weakness. Neither defence looked fully comfortable dealing with direct running, and the six goals reflected a contest in which organisation frequently gave way to improvisation. The late equaliser came from a simpler route: a deep cross into the box, a flick-on, and a brave header at the back post.

Standout Performers

David Cohen led the line well for Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi, while Eli Ben-David showed composure under pressure with the late equaliser. Yossi Mizrahi was influential in linking midfield and attack, and his movement created space for others throughout.

Ironi Beit Shemesh will point to Omer Levi as their key figure; his two goals were taken expertly and gave his side the platform to push for all three points. The visitors’ midfield also deserves credit for turning the game around after falling behind twice.

Season Impact

In the Israel B League, draws can be valuable when they come in difficult away fixtures, and Ironi Beit Shemesh will take confidence from their comeback. For Maccabi Lroni Kiryat Malakhi, the dropped points are a reminder that game management will be crucial if they are to climb the standings. Both sides remain in the thick of a competitive league campaign, and this six-goal thriller offered a clear indication of their attacking potential.
