Chadormalu SC and Kheybar Khorramabad played out a dramatic 2-2 draw in the Iran Pro League on Friday, a result that leaves both sides frustrated but also highlights their fighting spirit. The match swung one way and then the other, with late goals ensuring the points were shared.

Match Overview

Kheybar Khorramabad started the brighter of the two teams, pressing high and forcing Chadormalu into early mistakes. The visitors took the lead inside the first 20 minutes and looked comfortable for much of the first half. However, Chadormalu grew into the game and equalised before the break, setting up a tense second half.

Chadormalu took the lead for the first time in the 76th minute, and it looked like they might hold on for a valuable home win. But Kheybar Khorramabad responded with a late equaliser, capitalising on a defensive lapse to snatch a point. The draw keeps both teams in mid-table, but the manner of the result will leave neither completely satisfied.

Key Moments

• 18′ – 0-1: Reza Mirzaei gave Kheybar the lead with a smart finish after a quick break.
• 32′ – 1-1: Hossein Sadeghi equalised for Chadormalu with a header from a corner.
• 76′ – 2-1: Mehdi Zobeidi put Chadormalu ahead with a powerful shot from inside the box.
• 84′ – 2-2: Ali Ghorbani scored the equaliser for Kheybar, pouncing on a loose ball.

Tactical Story

Kheybar Khorramabad set up in a 4-2-3-1 and looked to counter-attack through the pace of Mirzaei and Ghorbani. They defended deep and tried to spring forward quickly whenever Chadormalu lost possession. That approach worked well in the first half, but Chadormalu’s growing control of midfield eventually turned the game.

Chadormalu switched to a more direct style in the second half, using their wingers to stretch the Kheybar defence and deliver crosses into the box. The move paid off with Sadeghi’s equaliser and Zobeidi’s goal. However, Chadormalu’s inability to manage the final minutes proved costly, as they sat too deep and invited pressure before conceding the late equaliser.

Standout Players

Hossein Sadeghi was a constant threat for Chadormalu, scoring one goal and winning several aerial duels. Mehdi Zobeidi added energy and creativity in midfield, while Ali Ghorbani was Kheybar’s hero with the late equaliser. Reza Mirzaei also impressed with his movement and finishing for the visitors.

Table Impact

The point keeps both teams in a similar position in the Iran Pro League table, but the draw feels like two points dropped for Chadormalu, who led with just six minutes remaining. Kheybar Khorramabad will be pleased with their resilience and their ability to score late on the road. With the league tightly packed, every point matters, and both sides will need to improve their game management in the coming weeks.
