Match Overview

Duhok SC stunned the home crowd by taking the lead in the 27th minute through Ali Hussein, who finished off a quick counter-attack with a low drive past the goalkeeper. Al-Mina'a dominated possession but struggled to break down a stubborn Duhok defence.

The equalizer finally came in the 68th minute when Mohammed Qasim converted a penalty after a handball in the box. Al-Mina'a pushed for a winner but were denied by a combination of wasteful finishing and excellent goalkeeping from Ahmed Khalid.

Key Moments

• 27' — Ali Hussein gives Duhok SC a surprise lead.
• 68' — Mohammed Qasim equalizes from the penalty spot.
• 90+3' — Duhok goalkeeper Ahmed Khalid makes a stunning save to deny Al-Mina'a a late winner.

Tactical Story

Al-Mina'a lined up in a 4-2-3-1 and controlled the game with over 65% possession. However, they lacked penetration against a Duhok side that defended deep in a 5-3-2 formation. Duhok's game plan was clear: absorb pressure and hit on the break, which worked perfectly for their goal.

Al-Mina'a's manager will be frustrated by his team's inability to convert dominance into goals. The penalty was their only shot on target from inside the box in the second half, highlighting a lack of creativity in the final third.

Standout Players

Ali Hussein was a constant threat on the counter for Duhok, while goalkeeper Ahmed Khalid was the man of the match with a string of fine saves. For Al-Mina'a, Mohammed Qasim was their most dangerous player, and captain Hussein Ali tried to drive his team forward from midfield.
