Auchinleck Talbot, the Scottish Junior Football Association giants, delivered a commanding 3‑0 win over Tranent Juniors at the Foresters Park. The scoreline reflected the visitors’ superior organisation and clinical finishing, as they eased through a pre‑season test against their East of Scotland League hosts.

First‑Half Domination

Talbot started aggressively. In the 12th minute, winger Liam Hislop cut in from the left and curled a shot into the far corner to put the visitors ahead. Tranent struggled to cope with Talbot’s pressing and fell further behind in the 29th minute when striker Max Guthrie nodded in from a corner. The home side’s best chance came just before half‑time, but a shot from Lewis O’Donnell was saved by Talbot goalkeeper Mark Wilson.

The second half was more even, but Auchinleck sealed the win in the 71st minute. Substitute Aiden McFadden received the ball on the edge of the area, turned, and unleashed a low drive that beat the Tranent keeper at his near post. Tranent pushed forward in the closing stages but could not breach the Talbot backline, which was marshalled expertly by centre‑back Brian Carrigan.
