Standard Liege Edge RFC Seraing 2–1 in Pre-Season Friendly

Standard Liege continued their pre-season preparations with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over local rivals RFC Seraing at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne on 26 July 2026. The international club friendly, which kicked off at 17:00 local time, served as an important fitness test for both sides ahead of the upcoming domestic campaigns.

Standard Liege took the lead in the 21st minute through a well-worked team move. Midfielder Loïc Lapoussin played a neat one-two with striker Denis Drăguș before firing low into the corner. The Belgian First Division A side dominated the opening period but were pegged back shortly after half-time. RFC Seraing, playing in the second division, equalised in the 53rd minute when forward Sammy Bourard reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box and stabbed home from close range.

The winning goal arrived in the 71st minute when a corner was flicked on at the near post and Konstantinos Laifis arrived at the back post to volley into the net. The home side saw out the remaining minutes comfortably to secure the win.
