Sport Podbrezova edged out Tatran LM 3–2 in an entertaining pre‑season friendly held on 18 July 2026. The match, played in warm weather, saw both sides use the opportunity to test new formations and give minutes to squad players. The result was secondary to the high tempo and five‑goal thriller that delighted the neutral observer.

First Half: Goals Galore

The winning goal came in the 68th minute when Podbrezova's substitute midfielder unleashed a long‑range effort that curled past the goalkeeper. Tatran pushed for an equaliser but were denied by a solid defensive block and a late save from the home keeper.
