Soroksar claim narrow victory over Szeged Csanad

Hungarian second-tier side Soroksar defeated fellow Hungarian club Szeged Csanad 3-2 in an entertaining pre-season friendly that showcased plenty of attacking intent. The match, held at Soroksar's training ground, saw the home side race into a two-goal lead before Szeged mounted a spirited comeback, only for Soroksar to snatch a late winner.

Match summary

Soroksar dominated the first half hour and capitalised with two quick goals. In the 15th minute, forward Gergo Balogh slotted home after a well-timed run behind the defence. Ten minutes later, midfielder David Horvath doubled the lead with a powerful strike from 20 metres. Szeged Csanad pulled one back just before half-time through a penalty converted by striker Patrik Toth, giving them hope.

The second half saw Szeged press for an equaliser, and it came in the 68th minute when defender Laszlo Kocsis rose highest to head in a corner. The game seemed destined for a draw, but Soroksar had other ideas. In the 83rd minute, substitute attacker Martin Szabo latched onto a long ball, held off a defender, and fired low into the net to secure the win for the home side.
