Preveza claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Pallixouriakos in an international club friendly on 6 September, using the fixture to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the competitive season. The match, played at 21:30, proved to be a tightly contested affair in which a single goal made the difference.

Match Overview

Both sides treated the friendly as essential preparation time, with coaches likely more interested in rhythm, fitness and tactical organisation than the final scoreline. Preveza controlled possession for long periods, while Pallixouriakos showed plenty of defensive discipline and looked dangerous on the counter-attack.

How the Game Unfolded

The opening half offered few clear-cut chances as both midfields battled for control. Preveza enjoyed the greater share of territory but struggled to break down a well-organised Pallixouriakos back line. The breakthrough finally arrived in the second half when the home side moved the ball quickly across the edge of the box and finished with composure to make it 1-0.

Pallixouriakos pushed forward in search of an equaliser but were unable to test the Preveza goalkeeper on a regular basis. The hosts managed the closing stages with maturity, retaining possession and protecting their lead until the final whistle.

Positives to Take

For Preveza, the clean sheet and the ability to grind out a win in a competitive pre-season friendly will provide useful confidence. Pallixouriakos will also take encouragement from a disciplined display, with several players keen to impress as they build toward the start of their league fixtures.
