KS Elbasani closed out their latest international club friendly with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Vlazrimi Struga at their home ground, delivering a controlled performance that will have pleased the coaching staff as the squad continues to build match sharpness. The Albanian hosts scored in each half, managing the tempo of the game intelligently and keeping their North Macedonian visitors at arm's length for long stretches of the contest.

Match Overview

The friendly, staged as part of a mid-season conditioning window, pitted Elbasani's organised, possession-based approach against Struga's more direct, transitional style. From the opening exchanges it was clear the hosts intended to dictate terms, circulating the ball patiently through midfield and pushing their full-backs high to stretch the opposition's defensive block.

Elbasani took the lead inside the first half-hour, converting a well-worked move that began with a quick switch of play and ended with a composed finish inside the penalty area. The second goal arrived after the interval, effectively settling a contest that had become increasingly one-sided as Struga tired.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: A patient build-up down the right culminated in a low cross that was turned home at the near post, giving Elbasani a deserved advantage.
• Struga's best chance: The visitors carved out their clearest opportunity shortly before half-time, only to be denied by a sharp save from the Elbasani goalkeeper.
• Second goal: Early in the second half, Elbasani doubled the lead with a strike from the edge of the box after a loose clearance fell kindly.
• Late control: With the result secure, the hosts slowed the tempo and saw out the closing stages without alarm.

Tactical Story

Elbasani's midfield triangle proved the difference. By keeping the ball moving quickly and refusing to over-commit in attack, they denied Struga the counter-attacking space the visitors thrive on. The away side's wingers were frequently forced backwards to receive possession, blunting their threat in the final third.

Struga showed flashes of quality in transition but struggled to sustain pressure, and their defensive line was repeatedly pulled out of shape by Elbasani's overlapping runs. The clean sheet was as valuable to the hosts as the goals themselves.

Standout Performers

Elbasani's attacking midfielder was the game's outstanding figure, linking play between the lines and setting up the opener with a perfectly weighted pass. The central defensive pairing were similarly impressive, winning their duels and stepping out from the back to launch attacks. For Struga, the goalkeeper kept the scoreline respectable with a string of saves, while their captain in midfield never stopped probing for a way back into the game.

What It Means

Friendly results count for little in the standings, but the manner of this 2-0 win offers Elbasani genuine encouragement. A clean sheet, two well-constructed goals and a disciplined defensive display represent exactly what a coaching staff wants from a fixture of this kind. For Vlazrimi Struga, the outing provides useful footage to analyse ahead of their competitive commitments, particularly in the areas of defensive organisation and ball retention under pressure.
