HSK Zrinjski Mostar continued their preparations with a battling 2-1 win over Jadran LP, a friendly fixture at their Mostar home that offered both clubs a valuable workout. The Bosnian side's superior quality in the final third ultimately decided a match that was competitive throughout.

Match Overview

Zrinjski, one of the most decorated clubs in Bosnian and Herzegovinian football, welcomed Jadran LP — the Croatian side from Ploče — for a cross-border friendly designed to build match sharpness and test tactical ideas. The hosts fielded a strong starting line-up, signalling that this was more than a casual run-out.

• Final score: HSK Zrinjski Mostar 2-1 Jadran LP
• Competition: International Club Friendly
• Result type: Narrow home win
• Key theme: Technical superiority against a determined, well-organised opponent

First Half: Zrinjski's Class Shows

The hosts dominated the opening period, circulating the ball with purpose and using both flanks to stretch Jadran's defensive block. The opening goal came from a patient move, with the ball worked into the box and finished clinically to make it 1-0.

Jadran LP responded admirably, pressing higher and forcing a handful of turnovers in midfield. Their equaliser was a reward for that pressure — a well-struck effort that gave the goalkeeper little chance and briefly silenced the home support.

Second Half: Depth and the Winner

Zrinjski rotated their squad after the interval, but the change in personnel did not reduce their control of the game. The winning goal came midway through the second half, crafted by a driving run through the centre and a composed finish past the Jadran goalkeeper.

The Croatian visitors kept pushing for a second equaliser and won several set pieces in the closing stages, but Zrinjski's reshuffled back line defended them competently. The referee's final whistle confirmed a hard-earned victory and a useful exercise for both sides.

Tactical Story

• HSK Zrinjski Mostar: Possession-dominant, aggressive in wide areas, comfortable rotating the squad while preserving structure.
• Jadran LP: Deep block with quick counter-attacks and a clear threat from set-piece situations.

The gap in technical quality was visible but not overwhelming. Zrinjski's ability to create high-quality chances from sustained possession was the decisive factor, while Jadran's organisation and work rate kept the contest alive until the final whistle.

Standout Performers

Zrinjski's attacking players linked well throughout, with their creative midfielder dictating tempo and creating both goalscoring sequences. The goalscorers demonstrated the sort of sharp finishing that will be needed in domestic and European competition. For Jadran LP, the goalkeeper impressed with a series of saves, and the midfielder who scored the equaliser showed excellent technique and composure under pressure.

What's Next

For Zrinjski Mostar, this friendly forms part of a broader build-up toward competitive fixtures at home and in continental competition, where squad depth and rotation will be essential. Jadran LP leave Mostar with a competitive performance against a strong opponent, a result they can carry into their own league campaign with confidence.
